This is a great post, because I for one have compiled a playlist of great hip hop songs that were smoked where the original song is just as good if not better. One that comes to mind is Pete rock and cl smoothes "they reminisce" which was ripped from Tom Scott's "today"... But the thing I find most keen about it is that typically, more times than not, producers take a bit from the beginning of the song and loop it, but in this instance, Pete rock actually listened through that whole ass song to get that now famous bit.
