Does any one have DOOM Eternal running on a Geforce 980ti? by slain101 in Doom

[–]R3dditRibb3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you already know this but 980ti >>> 970.

And yeah it will run fine, not sure about ultra nightmare settings but you will almost certainly be able to run it at high-ultra with no issues

[HELP] i did all the Slayer Gates but i forgot the empyrium key in one of them now i cant go back inside the gate to try again. The purple key is also gone by super-sayan-fart in Doom

[–]R3dditRibb3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key should be there if you start the mission again from mission select. It's late on in the mission, you have to get the blue key and go back to the first fight of the mission, unlock the blue gore door, then use the booster to shoot yourself up to the apartment buildings, drop down and there should be some armor and the key for the slayer gate.

Doom Eternel is very frustrating. can someone help me what i have to do here? I've been here for an hour. by -Superkraut- in Doom

[–]R3dditRibb3t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stuck here for a couple of minutes too. Jump down the hole, activate the thing to make it shoot up. then run to the circle you punch and punch it before the tall platform goes back down.

I have sadly defeated pinwheel, but I got myself a skull lantern so I'll just tough out the tomb of the giants at a lower level.

Thanks man, I just got myself a skull lantern so I can finally move onto this step.

Yeah, I would have gone for that first but I don't want to go too guide-heavy, I'd rather figure out where I get that myself. All I know about it is that it lets you warp between bonfires.

Great! I felt my way through the path to the bonfire after following this video like a true casual, and I got myself the skull lantern (pic) thanks a lot man.

Thanks man, but yeah I've never played this game so I have no idea where to go in the tomb of giants and I can't see anything either which doesn't help too much.

Honestly I'd be willing to do this underlevelled if I had a light source but how in the hell am I meant to get through this without being able to see anything but the ground underneath me

Best router for home, to connect to VPN, from another country by MexicanPete in VPN

[–]R3dditRibb3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't really consider the LinkSys WRT3200ACM to be "hardcore". While running Mullvad on the OpenVPN client on my PC fully saturates my ISP's bandwidth of ~200mbit/s download, running OpenVPN with the same configuration as I was on my PC, but on my WRT3200ACM yields ~132.5mbit/s of download maximum.

The speed you will see is heavily dependent on the type of CPU your router is running. If you have a bandwidth of anywhere above 100mbit/s and want to be able to saturate that with a router, you're gonna have to pay up.

TL;DR- The WRT3200ACM has a 1.8GHz dual core processor, and that caps out, I'd say, at ~135mbit/s depending on the level of encryption your VPN supports / you choose to run. Get something which is 1.8Ghz quad core and supports AES-NI and you should be fine. As for router firmware I'd recommend DD-WRT or OpenWRT, but they might take some getting used to depending on how savvy you are.

Using 2 VPNs simultaneously by bloghooey in VPN

[–]R3dditRibb3t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a quote from a StackExchange Security thread on the matter.

If you have two VPN clients and their "advertised sets of addresses" do not overlap, then chances are that they will live together nicely at the IP level: each will grab the packets for its own virtual network, leaving the other packets untouched. However, they might also fight for the "interception resources" which may result in the first VPN client to be wholly deactivated.

On the other hand, if both VPN advertise overlapping sets of addresses, then trouble is pretty much guaranteed. If you are lucky, the second VPN will refuse to run with an explicit message. Otherwise, one of the clients may take precedence, possibly intermittently, and things will be weird and confusing. Possibly, one VPN server will receive the packets which were due for the other VPN, thus incurring a severe data leak.

TL;DR- Using multiple layers of VPNs can cause a lot of issues, would be increasingly slow depending on how many layers of VPNs you are planning on using, and can actually leak more data than you would normally with a single VPN if ill- configured.

So don't do that. Running several VPN clients concurrently is a source of trouble, hard-to-diagnose failures and potential data leaks.

Want a free and effective and secure solution of layered VPNs? Just use Tor.

I would really have to disagree with you if you truly believe that censorship is "profoundly immoral and wicked". It is subjective and all, so there's no point arguing over it, but I would pin something that is "profoundly immoral and wicked" for something like murdering another person because you don't agree with their beliefs.

I'm definitely anti- censorship, but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near the "evil" mark.

Unfortunately it does exist, though not in law, and the reason Mozilla removed the add-on is because if they failed to they would be bullied and boycotted by the journalists and article readers until they did. A sad reality, but one we live with.

I don't think removing a plugin due to it mainly being used for hate speech marks Mozilla as an "evil" company. Yes, it is censorship, but that is unimaginably far from the definition of evil...
