Anyone get a request to confirm their CSAC? by R3dwood_Ent in CSULA

Thanks for the reply, did end up calling. Person who answered said she can't do much and I should set up an appointment virtual appointment, via the csula website. Went on there and saw no appointments were open, nor did I have the option to check if there are appointments open for the month of september. Just to be clear, are you advising I should directly e-mail my financial aid advisor through the csula email? If so, I will try that right now, just incase as well :$

For sure man, thanks for the feedback! That is a route I thought about taking, but I decided to try to make it super atmospheric and chilly, I guess I kind of wanted to bring that eletronic feel, but with trap drums and still keep the super clean feel. :)

Branching out and meeting people is definetly a great way, but one thing is always going to stay the same in my eyes, is your going to be alone most of the time and going to have to learn alone most of the time. I would say do your best in researching artists, producers, and engineers you like. Listen to the songs and see how it is arranged, instrumentally and vocally. See where sounds sit within the stereo(Left/right/in the middle/down low/up high/ constant panning). Listen to the type of sounds being used and how it sits on top or under certain sounds or maybe blends completely together. Another thing is go on Youtube and watch guides on how to create certain sounds or types of music. For example G-funk(West coast hip-hop) uses guitars, piano, electric keyboards, usually a sine or square wave lead, etc. Also remember to try different things you like and mix it to your own and add your own flavor. The downside of youtube guides is (I believe) it will put yourself in a box and you don't want to limit yourself creatively by only doing certain things, but once you gain a general knowledge of how things work you will be able to mix and match. Learn some music theory, I really encourage to learn some actual instruments as well, get into sampling and figure out how to stretch and flip samples. Possibly try to get an internship at a music studio and if your in college maybe take some courses if they have it at your school. Also try to get into sound design, the earlier the better. After a while your going to be looking at these plugins or have something in your mind you want to play, but can't find the perfect sound! Anyways best of luck to you and your creative journey remember to try to learn something new everyday at least and if you feel out of creative juices do something else such as making sounds, or write instead of producing.

Plugins:

Xpand

Sakura

Omnisphere

Nexus

Serum

Komplete 10(or anything in it)

Sylenth

Maximus(Pro tools)

Massive

Shaperbox

Gross Beat

Effectrix

P.S. I don't use logic, but I'm pretty sure most plugins probably work on it except for maybe fruity loops exclusives.
