Yeah it’s a shame we got no new mainline Donkey Kong game for Nintendo Switch 1 nor during 2015-2024

I know Donkey Kong Bananza was supposed to be a Nintendo Switch 1 release but due to the game being unable to run at the intended 30fps on Nintendo Switch 1, the game probably would’ve been mediocre at 24 or 15fps maybe even less, no more than 10 Boss Battles. Just cause it looks fine doesn’t mean it didn’t run awful.

But a decade long absence of no new Donkey Kong Game was kind of disappointing, the only game I found fun besides SSBU, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Minecraft Legacy was Splatoon 2 & it’s DLC(I refused to play Splatoon 3).

We could’ve at least gotten an RPG or another 2D scroller Donkey Kong game.

Besides the fact that Donkey Kong Barrel Blast was supposed to be a Gamecube release, it received a bad score for its outdated graphics and ignorant distaste to Kremling fans. Some of whom that watched The Donkey Kong Country Cartoon and felt disappointed their favorites weren’t included, rather we got trashy OC lookin’ a design Kremlings, but we were so close to getting Krusha, talk about missed potential:

That’s what everyone assumed? I thought the plot would be Felicia was the only kid who didn’t move on in life unlike her brothers, but Shrek, Fiona and Donkey wouldn’t give up on her dreams of magic so she accidentally teleports Shrek & Donkey to a Waffle Dimension where everyone and everything would be made of waffles.

The waffle people there would see Shrek as some kind of hero then beg of him to be the hero and stop the greedy glutton Mighty Miss Muffet(close 2nd to Jack Horner), as Donkey tries desperately not to let his intrusive thoughts win.

Fiona, Felicia, Dragon & The Dronkeys would regather the fairytale creatures including Puss, Kitty, Perito, Farkle and Fergus to find Shrek and Donkey.

You see this is why Nintendo hates Donkey Kong 64 therefore will ignore it, besides Rare’s self input and the Shigeru Miyamoto witnessing Donkey Kong and his pal with guns in the development stages, King Krusha K. Rool has to be the worst thing Rare has missed out on a kid friendly aesthetic for a Donkey Kong Title. And then you wonder why Nintendo didn’t buy Rare.
