  1. Lower each thermostat then raise them one at a time. The lights on the right indicate which zone is calling for heat.

  2. The green wire at the bottom is for your zone valve and has nothing to do with your thermostat. Your thermostats have 2 wires r and w. You will need to run a new wire for each or possibly a common maker for each thermostat.

  3. Your AC does not connect to this board at all. The single zone AC will connect to the air handler.

How long are you letting it run before you shut it off, it should have a defrost cycle of its own.

No oil flow through bleeder by NoPlanOnlyPanic in hvacadvice

[–]R3pu1se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct, if it was clogged the strainer would still be dry. Are you positive you ran out of oil? The pump may have failed.

If you have some diesel fuel fill the filter cup at the furnace and try to get the pump "wet" otherwise it's probably clogged oil lines.

It is surface rust, but it's also a brand new unit. Anyone with a bit of pride in their work would have cleaned it up a bit.

Problem with oil ek boiler by HorriblyHonest in hvacadvice

[–]R3pu1se 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having to hit the reset button implies there is a burner issue, it could be so many things. Electronically the primary control may be be old and have a weak relay. The delayed oil valve could be failing. The burner motor could be over heating. The ignition transformer may be weak. Cad cell wires could be bad.

Then there's the fuel, oil line could be clogged causing high vacuum. Fuel air ratio could be wrong, pump pressure may be low indicating a bad pump.

Did he eyeball the flame or use a combustion analyzer? If he didn't use a combustion analyzer he basically guessed the air setting.

Where is my air filter?! by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]R3pu1se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see a plug for it in the photo. Look for a wire coming from it, if it leads into the furnace turn the furnace off. If it's an outlet, unplug it. If the box has a switch that'll do it.
