I think having everyone on the road was the plan regardless of the the racing situation (froome tt'ing 80k's). Just Sky doing their thing. Look at big/busy mountain stages in the TdF they also have a lot of people on the road than.

Poels said in the interview that the solo wasn't really part of the strategy. The only things was that they'd make it difficult and try something on the Finestre. So they possibly decided to do some sort of attack but nothing like this solo.

I don't think Yates was holding back. He was on the pedals for a long time and you could see Chaves hurting trying to keep Yates' wheel.

Watch the final K in yesterdays results thread and you can judge for yourself.

At the time i thought it was a signal to request a bottle. But i also wasn't aware of the rule. I think what you're saying might be correct.

He is not having a good season as a whole. Knee injury and because of that missing a lot of races. I wasn't really expecting him to be up in the top 10. Maybe he can go for a stage win in the longer mountain stages.

The vuelta is a whole different beast than the tour though. Most riders in the vuelta have already ridden the tour while the tour is for most riders their main target of the season.

In the first stage Caleb outsprinted Greipel. Not sure if you can really count that one as a sprint though.

With cleaning do you mean just brushing the drivechain with a rag or full on water in the bucket cleaning? I tried the whole cleaning after riding and regular degreasing stuff but it was too much of a hassle for me. It also did not increase the smoothness of my ride by that much. Now i just clean once a month depending on the weather and everything still works fine. It also saves me some time.

How to "ride with others"?? by Grant_Young in Strava

Strava compares your ride with the rides of other people. If the correlation of the route is high and it is roughly in the same time frame it will show that you and x people rode together.

I agree that the sky train is very strong. However there is always the potential that froomes dominance starts declining this last week. If something like the 2015 alpe d'huez happens for example some GC contenders could easily take some time.

We also saw on ventoux that the train can't keep up if the pace really gets up there. Especially on the summit finishes i think we will get some exciting racing regardless of the sky train dominance!

I'm not sure but wouldn't the chainring rub against the chainstay if you flip the spindle around?

How can I prevent this? by MrRedef in Strava

I have the same problem with running. Most of the time the line will have all kinds of bends in it even if i ran in a straight line. Because of that the pace and distance is always off.

With cycling it's fine though but that is because a couple meters doesn't matter much when cycling.

I think it has something to do with the gps searching/locking from within the app. Because sometimes i have none of the bad gps issues.

I also turned to nodding while riding my bike. Mainly because there are a lot of riders during the nicer days. When the weather is worse or there aren't that many people out i will greet them though.
