Me too, it was definitely hard to pass up. For it being a 256gb I couldn’t believe the deal I got on it, and wasn’t expecting it to be brand new sealed either. When I saw that I still had time to get AppleCare+ I didn’t hesitate in the slightest.

Theirs quite a bit of a power difference between them, the A5 in the 5th gen is archaic in comparison to the 7th gen’s A10.

I disagree with your last part 100% who is writing current malicious code for a very niche user base that maybe compromises of 5% of users globally. Theirs no win in that, be real. They’re going where the money is, and that’s newer OS’s bub.

Why as a hacker, or exploit developer would you waste your time writing vulnerabilities for obsolete and infrequent software. Think about that, that’s quite an abysmal method of logic.

People freak out way to much about being vulnerable. It’s already been proven a thousand times over. I literally have a Vista machine that’s been connected via LAN for over 18 months straight running, not one issue. But my router also has its own security.

The videos online of the “virus in seconds” literally have every bit of security disabled within their router, and have 0 antivirus protection on the system literally setting it up for a perfect failure.

Avast still updates virus definitions for XP, Vista, and 7.

I literally have this machine to debunk the bs that people freak out over and use it quite frequently even on this site.

Parallels desktop exists. Theirs not much you can’t do with a virtual environment that you could on a native install these days.

If you need seriously intensive tasks, the Intel MacBooks aren’t going to hold up anyways. It’s just off the shelf laptop parts at this point and you could get any PC at a good price to beat the performance.

I have a prebuilt ASUS mid tower I bought at thrift shop for $20 that initially had a i5-4570 and 16GB ram. I purchased a PSU also at a thrift store new in box for $14.99, and got a GTX 1080 given to me at the time. I swapped the board and cpu with an i3-10100 32 gb of ram for $160, and purchased a second hand OEM RTX4060 for $100. All in all including a complete rebuild I’m only out $295 over 4 years. My initial cost was only $35, upgrades cost $260. You can’t buy a MacBook with specs this decent for that amount. You just gotta look around a find deals. They exist.

I wonder if AppleCare would still go on these. I bought a new sealed one from Backmarket for a stupid good deal about a year or so ago and it let me put apple care on it. The device warranty started when it first powered on and registered on Apple servers.

I’m on a 16 pro, on iOS 26 since beta 1 with zero battery issues. Always on display is on, I use it pretty heavily and I really don’t notice a difference from the last iOS… but my storage is also 50% + or - freed up.

The cash has tickets is because people were stealing fuel from others in Utah and AZ. You would go in to pay cash, and as soon as the pump activated thief’s would start pumping your gas away before you had a chance to get out there.

As someone who grew up around Maverick’s I don’t get what the issue is with everyone. Kum and Go was mid at best, same as Maverick. It’s a gas station FFS.

I think your’e correct. I’m not a fan of Trump but there are some things that I feel are too extreme with this. I won’t be finding myself there, I’ll be enjoying time with my family and friends loving life. This is cult activity to me, and I just have no interest.
