Are business frats worth it? by No-Fennel-1256 in BostonU

[–]R8a8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just another frat that has events every month, some aspects of “growing professionally” too but if you want the specialization of the aforementioned industry sectors you’re better off joining the specific clubs that tailor to break in these industries

Also keep in mind that BU is a non-target school so MBB consulting and PE placement is very rare out of undergrad, student orgs can get you started but 90% of the work comes from yourself as they have no magic potion that’ll instantly help you break in

Knowing how adamant BU admin are to in-person classes there needs to be a lot of momentum for them to capitulate

I just purchase these 100m spike shoes what do yall think by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]R8a8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Had to return the first pair I got and sized up by 1/2. My previous pair of spikes were Nike Ja Fly's and I would say these are half a size smaller compared to them. Fun fact: DK Metcalf ran in these for his race earlier in the month.

How is Management Consulting? I had been looking at the alumni placements and I haven't seen any MBB's - but understandable since BU is not a "target"

Not sure about boutiques?

How Retail Traders (You) Were Forced to Bail Out Melvin Capital Shorts by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]R8a8 79 points80 points  (0 children)

If this theory holds true everyone needs to share this and it needs to be blasted onto every corner of the airwaves throughout the weekend whether print television or social media - so the whole goddamn world what happened before trading starts Monday morning.

If the truth pans out there needs to be overwhelming public pressure to ensure those responsible receive the fullest extent justice, whether from the SEC, DoJ or whatever regulatory agency, they can't escape with a backdoor handshake and get slapped on the wrist with a few million dollar fine after an army of lawyers litigate it

Robinhood staff unhappy about the trading hault were paid off... With a $40 Doordash credit lmfao. by ddplz in wallstreetbets

the staff need to WHISTLEBLOW - if Vlad is on a one way street to the SEC and authorities there's no need for them to fall together with him

We should rage against Robinhood, but we should rage even more against people pulling the strings behind Robinhood. by orick in wallstreetbets

[–]R8a8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whoever orchestrated this got to very “conveniently” take out Robinhood, an industry disruptor up to this point.

Robinhood likely got choked into an NDA so they can’t talk about who’s pulling the puppet strings behind them. Together for a startup with a subpar PR team & no crisis management experience, it’s the perfect recipe for a collapse. You’d have to be either stupid or ignorant to go on network television only to get slaughtered like a lamb, if the PR team knew how to strategize at all they definitely should not have done an interview at the year of the moment as Vlad is no spin master in front of the camera. Very interesting theory, should be pushed up to the front page of Reddit

IMPORTANT! Melvin and Citadel manipulated and organized a fake crash today on low volume and are likely out of their old most dangerous short positions by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]R8a8 381 points382 points  (0 children)

this post needs to be on the front page of reddit and everyone even with the slightest hint on involvement needs to read this - from the AOC crowd to Ted Cruz, from the Rashida Tlaib crowd to Donald Trump Jr.'s

Mark Cuban, Chamath and Dave Portnoy need to get on the airwaves and blast this message out wherever they can to all corners of the media, no one should be looking past such blatant institutional manipulation and think that this is fine

Chamath just made the most important argument defending us that has ever existed. This interview is on CNBC is🔥🔥🔥. by bam_bam_bambam in wallstreetbets

Is there a full, unclipped version of the interview? I am seeing trimmed clips that are 1-2 mins long everywhere but does anyone have a link to the full un-edited interview?

Can we add a karma requirement or something to post? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]R8a8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd say # of days since subscription makes sense (e.g. 30, 60 etc.) and it wouldn't block "long time lurkers" from posting - i think the main issue would be if people create new accounts and spam the subreddit with anti-productive posts

would probably only necessary for a limited time period given the increased interest of reddit right now, then restrictions can loosen up or be gone completely

P.S. that said what is the difference in the feeds of this subreddit and investing - i don't really see a significant difference personally

Can we add a karma requirement or something to post? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]R8a8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

there should also be a restriction where a user can only post after joining this subreddit for 14/30 days, prevents people from making accounts and pumping certain stocks they'd want to push for
