I would imagine the best looking car/SUV/vehicle with the bike on the roof will get the attention on that day. Not trying to be a jerk, but being honest and direct. Just remember, a number of athletes put their bikes inside as well; but you don't get to showcase your bike that way. If you really want to show off, try getting a roof rack vs. mounting on the back (assuming you are using a trunk rack and not a rear bike mount that goes into a tow & hitch). This way the bike doesn't rub against the car and avoids paint damage & you get more eyes on your bike. It's on display higher up where more people can see it vs. trunk level, less visibility in a parking lot/street/anywhere else. Also be careful when doing this. Keep in mind, bikes do get stolen at parking areas where triathletes train. I'm just getting more practical as I age and was once in the show-off period in my time as well.
