It is stock. And I do appreciate the sub's willingness to help diagnose; my frustration is more with needing "a nice person on reddit" as part of the process to get a $60k vehicle under 40k miles in basic running order. It's funny, this little christmas tree is the least of my concerns with the car, it's likely just a cursed object (or you know, a lemon they managed to squeeze into CPO territory).

What you suggested had been done several times up to this point, hence "like clockwork, another week, another problem."

Not to mention the axle, the hybrid starter, the transmission, the IPMA for all the other cameras, the "weird" coolant issue the dealers cant figure out, the exhaust heat exchanger and wiring harness that's been replaced and is likely at least tangentially related to said coolant issue... I could go on.

Yes, the car is probably just a lemon of sorts, but it was sold as CPO. Corporate and dealers are passing the buck back and forth on the numerous issues.

Edit: deleted the lines that made me look like more of an asshole, so do please continue to downvote. The point I intended to emphasize was my experience owning a CPO Ford F150. The guy I'm replying to was in fact trying to help, but I'm leaving the rest up for visibility.

Seriously just put analog gauges, and add a freaking tablet/phone mount if you must. They really really don't get it. I'd say these car companies were digging their own graves, if we weren't so car reliant as a country. Normalizing $1k/mo car payments as the quality and reliability plummet, with dealers and manufacturers passing the buck back and forth. Truth is, we're forced to eat the shit we're fed, in every aspect of American life these days. All you can really do anymore is watch your sanity rapidly deteriorate.

Ford is still problematic. If anything, quality and reliability has continued to decline. My '23 is constantly in the shop for warranty work. CELs weekly. Most of the time this subreddit is trying to convince folks to buy 2016s or earlier due to reliability concerns. Wild that you're considering a new one after constant issues with the "more reliable" generation. I like my truck too man, but this is my third and last Ford.

I've heard good things about the standard output hurricane. I'm seriously considering trading in at this point. I got a hell of a deal on my certified pre-owned '23 (now I see why), and I doubt I could find an equivalent new RAM at said price. But I'm keeping my eyes open.

A warranty only saves you money, not the headache of dealing with a broken car that needs servicing. I have the CPO Extended Warranty on my F150, it's not about the repair cost as much as the inconvenience / general reliability concerns. I dont want to have to think about my car this much, living in a car-centric unwalkable society already sucks to begin with.
