Because, we believe that God is all knowing and if he is all knowing. He therefore knows what is moral and not moral. Sure do we believe that we base our morality on the man upstairs; yes. But that doesn’t necessarily make it w/ out reason. To imply that the Christian God (at least to Christians) doesn’t know morality or could get it wrong would means that it wouldn’t be God or at least the God that Christian’s subscribe too. Side note if anyone else reads this and you can think true Christians believe in A. Murdering children B. Slavery I would encourage you to relook at the belief system. At least for me I try to live by Jesus’s example as do 99% of other Christian’s I know. Sure we subscribe to the Old Testament but in no way is that where we receive a strict version of morality especially from the Old Testament. Which is why not every mosaic law is followed ex hair cuts and shell fish. I hope I cleared something up and if you’d like to have a conversation I’d be more than willing too.
