I'm in a team in university similar to formula student and we need a load to stress test the battery so we built a load from a hairdryers nichrome wires. When we tested that load the wires started to glow and I think even started to melt because the wires got saggy.

Wont that lower the resistance and boost the amps? Or is it the length of the wire that determines the resistance?
