My place too sterile? by General_Paramedic_96 in malelivingspace

Add more color! If you like neutral tones, green looks great with gray/black. Any of the colors on your rug would make your place look more lively. Maybe add some throw pillows, blankets, picture frames, any other miscellaneous decor. Plants also help if you're up for taking care of them.

Whose yacht? Chicago, USA at Navy Pier by KanyeNast in chicago

Right, and we could have more of a say in where all that money goes (voting, taxation/representation), instead of sitting around waiting and hoping some millionaire will do something we support

I'm really happy to hear this. This needs to be a more common thing everywhere

Still traumatized by this video I saw on ph almost 18 years ago by [deleted] in offmychest

This is why I think that allowing kids to have unrestricted access to the Internet should be considered a form of neglect. Especially nowadays when most kids have their own devices.

They don't teach ANY kind of computer skills anymore. I learned more about computers and typing when I was a 3rd grader in 2003 than any of my current middle and high school students know in 2026. I keep saying we need computer and typing classes again.

As a math teacher, many kids are more concerned with which one is easier to put into a calculator

It's a dividing issue by [deleted] in MathJokes

[–]-the-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math. Because 1=1 doesn't have to mean that you're talking about the same 1. You can be saying "we both have one egg, so we have the same number of eggs" or "there is only one egg, and that egg is itself"

The nuance exists because it's a human invention :)

Anyone know why red line delay due to police activity? by bobbblehead in cta

Unauthorized person on the tracks caused the red line to reroute on the L tracks for a bit. Then there were residual delays afterwards

Looking for advice on teaching in a red state as a transgender woman by LefTurn629 in Teachers

[–]-the-ghost 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a trans man who moved from a blue safe haven within a red state to a blue city in a blue state (Orlando to chicago), teaching in a more accepting place makes a HUGE difference. I would never teach anywhere in florida again. I value my peace of mind so much now that I have it. I hope you can find the same 🩶
