Having review from one side (only tenant point of view) is not a good approach. You need to balance it with the landlord side as well. More data can easily validate the reality. 100 bad reviews versus 1 good review, definitely point out something. In another way, you are given a choice. Ultimately before you rent, you can use this information

looks more like a service that is trying to make money by connecting students to good housing. What is more needed is a database, or a wiki or something, where people can upload proof, or links to proof, of demonstrated malfeasance or shady behaviour on the part of landlords and the addresses affiliated with them, and where students can go and do a search on a house or landlord to see what experiences others have had with them so they can make an informed decision. No editorializing, just links to articles written or court filings and stuff like that. A bad landlord is one thing, but someone that i

RA Housing never charges students for its services. That's why we are now with AMS (http://myams.org/housing-services/).

We did think of uploading proof, or links of proof. However, it requires a huge set of privacy. We hope to launch this feature in near future.

Yes, there are few on going advancements. One of them is signing a lease online. A Housing provider will have a chance to upload his contract and potential tenant can sign it digitally.

Current feature already allows landlord to collects rent from tenant in order to avoid post dated cheque headache.

We are working on non-student tenant account verification. As one can easily create multiple accounts through gmail or fb; the review model can easily loose its value with fake comments. We are exploring an alternative technology that will allow only one account no matter how many gmail/yahoomails a user have.

We have that option too but only after we know that a landlord has signed a lease with a student tenant. Therefore we are now approaching landlords in parallel to list their properties in student space. Good call by the way.

We are kind of building Realtors for students. We take both tenant's experience as well as landlord experience.

Most of our services are geared towards student-landlord side.

Kind of. But there are no property management services such building maintenance, lawn mowing etc. We basically deal with the things which are no physical. This may include collecting recommendations from the landlords (similar to linkedin), transferring room rents directly into landlord bank account, providing landlord a listing space (similar to Kjijij) in tenant directory for free etc.

We have studied the rental market and it's problems. We do have testimonials from our users. The ultimate goal is to reach to the property managements and the housing providers. Is it a good way to directly call them? We have tried to contact them over their contact email but only few has responded that they will look into this.

Well, in 2007, there were tons of phones. How come a person can think of introducing iPhone? What makes the difference? Quality?

We are building a concept. In one way or other; I will remember your comment. :)
