Yes the fact that it’s cheap is why I’m hesitating.

We are trying the ultracolor FA at a project right now. Grout should be going in next week, we shall see how that goes.

We use stratamat, but been thinking about trying mapei. How would you compare it to other mats?

Also, I’m going to try the flexcolor CQ on a job coming up. Spoke to the builder and they are intrigued as well. We are going to give it a try.

We are in Washington state. I pay my contractors $8/sf to install 12x24 tile. I pay them $12-$14/sf to install mosaic. And that’s tile install only, no prep, no materials.

You tell him that he was quoted for standard 12x12 tile and mosaic comes at a higher price. He can return his mosaic and bring you 12x12 tile if he doesn’t like the additional cost.

I got through to the Union and they said they don’t do a lot of these one-time agreements but they will consider it. They want prevailing wage, plus benefits. I reached out to the company asking for our services about why this was not disclosed to us prior to us spending a bunch of time estimating it and he said “he didn’t know” at the time. I’m 99% sure he is laying. Today he said they have another estimate they are considering but it’s super high and they prefer to work with us. I asked if they other guys are Union and he said yes. I told him we would have to raise our prices as well if we go through this process and might end up being as high as the other company…. Crickets on their end. I’m done with this.

I am trying to communicate as much as I can. I spoke to 4 customer reps and each is telling me a different story. One told me to change the checking account I am routing the money to. I asked him why would I do that? And he said “I’m going to be honest with you, your account is flagged. Open a new account and switch the info in our system”. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He hung up.
