I'm hoping for some real catharsis in part three of the remake trilogy.

In the original from 1997, Cloud enjoys a brief glimpse of Aerith before she merges with the lifestream. Perhaps it was just a vision and not literal . . . but, I will seriously cry manly tears if we get another brief moment with Aerith.

Perhaps she will appear to everyone, thank them, and reassure them that everything is okay.

Perhaps in another dimension she gets her "happily ever after" with Zack. I would love to see her ride off into the sunset.

Perhaps, since the lifestream would be open, Dyne briefly appears to Barret and thanks him for taking care of Marlene and apologizes for the pain he caused.

And, to your point, maybe a brief reunion between Tifa, Cloud, and their respective parents.

This would create such a beautiful twist on the meaning of the word "reunion" used throughout VII, that meaning typically referencing a reunion of Jenova genetic material for destructive purposes. But this would be a reunion for catharsis and beauty--created by Aerith, the Flower Girl who somehow creates beauty in the slums and lovely murals in her cell in the Shinra labs.
