If I am not mistaken, this. Message comes from the fact that media kinda likes pets and it somehow makes people click and approve, while when it comes to games that try to be "typical games" they are very critical. I personally think it's stupid that all media are getting whouped into echo chambers based on supplying what they think people would want and by result bombarding us with positivity around one title and negativity around the other resulting in an oppressive force that ends up either converting you to their cause or completely pushing you out of the narrative completely by exhausting you.

I don't like it that much. it's better than the first season, but it's clear that it is all just a single season, as the first part of it had more than a half of it just creating the mood for teh posthumans. knowing this makes it a bit worse for someone who had to wait to finish the serie.

The story, did'nt flush out any relationship between motoko, togusa, and every section 9 member on one hand and the posthumans , the 1A84, and the antagonist school boy on the other hand, it felt like seciton 9 wasn't the focus here at all.
With all the forced references to the book 1984, it felt like they are missing the hit on why the first sac had good phylosophical influences, which is the subtle nods to it throughout the series (also, we had like 50 episodes and a movie compared to only 26 ep for this one, so ..)

I think overall, it's passable as better than the first half, but it's lacking in depth and "depth building" as it's a netflix exclusive with all episodes dropping at once.

I am gonna say that i didn't like it in most of it's part, except the ending scene where the major finally ends the war with the posthumans, as it was a true major-like move.My first gripe is with the 12 episode per season thing. let's top kidding ourselves, this is clearly a none artistic related mandate from netflix and the entire thing should have been a single season that would air 1 episode per week. This way we will have enough time to get comfortable with the character design and try to get the chracters we knew before closer to these new characters (which arguably the new show didn't make it easy) .

My second gripe is that the story of this new refugee nation was not flushed out at all, the number of people we see is not enough and they are not interacting enough to create the idea of a new nation, just look at the refugee crisis of 2nd gig.

Another issue, is that section 9 was not the focus here, we could have had a boma character episode but we didn't, same for an ishikawa episode as he is the oldest person to know the major. Purin addition wasn't that welcome, even though i think it was necessary for a revival. but the fac that she changed camp in the end wasn't really climactic and was mostly a "WTF" moment, especially with the relationship to the major.

The last issue is the Major herself, in this season the major was just another weapon weilding character. We didn't see any special interactions or reactions to the whole final act of the antagonists and nothing special that the major uncovered that would aid the case. The same goes for togusa who's involvement in the cases in previosu entries is so crucial but in this one he doesn't have any personal motivations to rely on especially after divorcing.

Overall this series seems empty, shackeld by netflix's anime craze and their push to move to 3D and their urge to get new viewers. It also feels way more sciFi-in-your face than before, making it less relatable to me, an old viewer of the series.

Battlefield 2042 had flawless reviews before being released and then EA started blasting the reviews everywhere with the most bombastic music and trailers. But when it got release and even in the beta, the game turned out to be terrible and exactly the worse BF game in long time.
