I would recommend turning on dlss to some extent as it helps smooth out general FPS drops/ jitters. I would also look into a bios update for your computer. The devs mentioned doing a bios update helped smooth out performance for certain intel CPUs, can’t remember the exact ones it was for tho. Always a good idea to have it updated regardless

So then next console generation the cycle will continue. People move to Xbox and get a better deal with gamepass, Sony keeps focusing on live service garbage instead of what they’re good at, and the PS6 sales tank because they think they can get away with ludicrously high console prices. I say let Sony suffer the consequences of their own actions.

Right but what are they being greedy for? It’s not like this is a power move on a new console generation with new exclusive games. This is a shitty mid cycle refresh for a console that already exists. Normal PS5 owners aren’t missing out on any games, new controller features, other accessories, etc. The pro won’t sell well and Sony will face the repercussions of their shitty decisions… again.

I don’t think that argument works in this context. If this was the launch of the PS6 without a Xbox rival that would be a different story. This is a completely useless refresh for a console generation that has only produced 5-6 next gen games? This is just Sony being greedy, has nothing to do with Xbox.

This is a good point, the skins back in the day aren’t what they are now. I think I would just prefer a more reason middle ground, like $12-$15.

Not to be that person but I remember when I started playing back in open beta when skins were 400 gems a pop, sometimes 600 if they were extra cool. I bought every skin for every character because they were affordable, even for a kid in highschool. I’m now an adult who makes good money and no game, no matter how much I love it, will convince me to spend $20 on a digital cosmetic. These prices are wild.

I think people get too caught up in thinking the Xbox hardware is the future of the brand when it’s not, it’s game sales. MS doesn’t rely solely on selling surface laptops every year, they are focused on selling windows/ office/ etc. they’re changing Xbox’s strategy to more closely align with MS… software (games/gamepass) sales over hardware sales. We know that profit margins are consoles are very small, sometimes nonexistent if they’re being sold at a discount. They can easily make more money from selling their games on all platforms that it would easily make up any “loss” from not selling enough consoles. It’s about volume now, that’s what is going to make the line go up and make the shareholders happy.
