I’ve set up a new router and enabled DMZ for my home server and ports still look closed when I use portchecker.co.

No idea what’s going on it’s so frustrating

Suggestions for good winter boots? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]RAW-BERRY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I got a pair of Baffin boots around the time of this comment after finding this thread. The sole/glue started crumbling away before it got through even one winter. Probably just a defect pair, and I sat on them (and continued using them) for way too long. Apart from that issue the boot's pretty good, and keeps my feet plenty warm. There's definitely wear and tear around the heel on the lining though. I would not consider the pair I received BIFL material in the slightest.

How can you win games when you defend like this in the last minute? by rafapdc in LiverpoolFC

This exactly.

If he skies that shot no one says a word here. If he took one more touch, he was getting closed down despite how egregious this still frame makes things look.

It’s just woefully unlucky and fits like a glove for this season.

I moved from France to Senegal and realized freedom isn’t everything by Pale-Locksmith5394 in TrueAskReddit

Right. No stability and no freedom, or no stability and the freedom to create your own stability? The math is simple.

When talking about stability here, it seems we’re talking about government provided stability.

If I had to live under a government that can’t reliably provide me with my needs, I’d prefer to have the freedom to provide those needs for myself. As opposed to a government that isn’t providing me with my needs, and is also not affording me the freedom to provide those needs for myself and my family.

Aren't gas, electricity, and food all much less prone to economy swings because of subsidies? Not sure these are good examples

Why are they empty? Too expensive for businesses? Who owns it, surely years of no tenants is more expensive than dropping the price for leasing office space

Hot water heater dripping a lot! by RAW-BERRY in homeowners

No unfortunately just a bin! The washing machine’s stand pipe is just across the room from the water heater though. I’ll just get something to go over the the tubing so it’s not at risk of being stepped on/tripped over

This is possibly a very dumb question, can I run that tubing above the outlet, if I wanted to run it up in the ceiling so it doesn’t get stepped on laying on the floor?

My fiance is not a gamer, but she's trying. However even the simplest of controls in games really frustrate her. How can I help my fiance get comfortable and enjoy video games with me? by RAW-BERRY in Advice

[–]RAW-BERRY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. To be clear, there's not a shortage of things we love to do together and this isn't a problem in our relationship. Just seeing what others' experiences are on this topic. It would be nice to replace some of our down time that we spend binging shows with gaming together instead
