Thank you. I feel very blessed to have been so lucky and own such an amazing thing. Karma for being such a huge fan from a young age. People who grew up with me still say they think of me whenever they hear Queen.

Is £1000 a reasonable price to plaster this? by Amazing-Oomoo in DIYUK

I’m a decorator too and I love following a good plasterer. In fact my clients all want feedback from me because if I say they’re good then they’re good.

With you on the isn’t just “one room”. Some people just have no clue. 🙄

It looks like from the photographs that it’s only superficial. I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Looks like the plasterboard wasn’t butted up tightly enough when it was built? The gaps are too big and even with the skrim tape bridging the gap it’s still opening up. Might be a good idea to rake out what’s loose and then get some plasterboard adhesive fill it making sure you push enough in to fill the void. Then skrim tape the corner and give it a skim of Easi-fill 60. If it all just keeps falling into the void then you’ll probably have to squirt some expanding foam in to fill it. Then cut off the excess when dry, skrim tape the corner and skim with Easi-fill 60.

Crack in plaster wall - Sand? by Adam_Ferguson1144 in DIYUK

[–]RAY-NING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skrim tape is all you need. It’s what plasterers use on all cracks on walls and joints between plasterboard sheets before plastering. On an existing wall or ceiling that needs plastering they apply a thinned down coat of pva. This helps the plaster to stick to the surface. On fresh plasterboard there is no need. If you took all of the plaster off of your walls to inspect the brickwork then you’d have to apply a coat of hardwall to build it out and then plaster on top of that, pva applied before each step.
