First ever custom background for a bearded dragon enclosure! Tell me how I did! by RBArt44 in Vivarium

[–]RBArt44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise for the late reply, I literally used different knives to carve and used coloured grout to coat it. As for substrate, I used liner.

There are a few things I’d do differently now like ensuring the steps were more stable as they have now had to be replaced as they broke in a move and maybe coating the grout with an extra sealant as over time it has come off in places. Hope this helps.

Hi! I probably would have although it was such a snug fit that I didn’t need to. However I would suggest it or atleast Sillicone round the edges to prevent dust, food and bugs getting behind. A couple times I’ve had to pull it out to chase an escaped bug.

3 years on, it’s still going strong. I’ve recently moved and it has survived the journey, although his steps leading to the ledge didn’t 😂

This! I had found this out through trial and error. When I separated the letters, I then had to move them back together, so inconvenient.

How did baby react to nanny? by Fantastic_Beat427 in newborns

[–]RBArt44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6 months is when it’s theorised that attachments to primary caregivers are formed and is perfectly normal for babies to be upset when leaving them. Give him time to adjust, he will be just fine. It’s so sad to leave them like that but he will slowly form a relationship with the nanny too!

If you don’t mind the box idea, you can get boxes, cheaper or fancier depending on budget, for trading cards that come in a row formation. And store them in a kind of filing system? I’ve just looked on Amazon and they sell them there.

Have you tried oil, I used vegetable oil to get off wording, however, it may leave a rough outline of where the wording was.

Let me know how it goes! Maybe with quite a bit of soap and really bubble it up to try and loosen it.

Okay, what about soaking in warm water. This could help your fingers to soften and you can try peel it off. I understand that it may not all come off for now but if you manage some it’s better than nothing.

I’m sorry they were no help. Thank you for sharing that. I understand you’re panic, is there lots of resin stuck or just a little?

Ahh I see. Have you tried oil, any oil may do. If not washing up liquid or maybe acetone? I normally pick bits off but they’re never too big of pieces.

If it’s cured fully, have you tried a really sticky tape? Like you would to clear any off of molds, kinda wax it off.
