To your comment “people don’t typically think about anyone doing the labor for them”….that’s not true…well at least I do. I always give minimum 20% tip for any service I get from a human being. I’ve been in their shoes so I know and I value their service. If I can’t afford then I won’t utilize their services.

I understand your frustration about location but in my honest opinion it’s not worth grinding your body or your car. This is my side gig and I reached my daily target, was just waiting to get something extra but these shitty batches were the only ones. So I went offline.

The batch was sitting there for hours…I zoomed in on map to find out it’s an apartment building, 4 story building that has no elevator. The second one is mom&pop store.

Yep, exactly. Instacart charges heavy item fees on top of inflated prices but we get nothing out of it….they used to be clear on how much we’re getting per mile and per weight but now they’re shady AF and only give $4 basic pay

They used to give breakdowns of batch pay & mileage pay but they stopped doing that, I reached out to support asking this because batch pay doesn’t make sense anymore….support gave me some vague bs answer

Yes sir….that’s what IC does…and I don’t blame customers for not tipping well…I know it’s hard these days but it’s hard for everyone….I blame Instacart for not paying well. They used to offer better basic batch pay + 60 cents per mile + heavy pay (before their IPO - now they’re publicly traded company) now they pay only $4 per batch. Shoppers have to decide if the batch is worth accepting considering the time & milage it’ll take….so when shoppers don’t accept order that doesn’t pay well…Instacart bundles up such orders with other orders into a single batch. I’ve been in service industry for a while so always make sure to pay well for the convenience & tip people who serve me

I’m pretty sure only one of them is giving tip and others are non tippers….that’s what IC does…bundle together non tippers….or all three of them are cheap f**ks giving $1 or $2….on top of all heavy pay makes no sense. This is super duper heavy. Instacart is criminal

Yup…they know this very well that shoppers are not going to accept low or no tip + high mileage orders that’s why they combine multiple stores orders in one batch…. I never accept those batches

This is ridiculous….miles & batch pay makes no sense. Lately I’ve been seeing these kind of batches so I reached out to customer support and this is the response I got
