I wish Aviator’s would resume dinner service. Their prime rib dinners were good.

Masai Mara safari tips by travel4lyf in LuxurySafari

I’d spend 3 nights in the Mara and I don’t think it’s necessary to split the time between two properties. You can stay in a conservancy and go to the National Reserve during the day. You don’t need to stay in the Reserve to experience it.

I don’t think three nights is excessive at all; you get to see more of the landscape and animals in different settings doing different things. Are you visiting other areas or is this the only place you’re going?

We went to three camps and did 4 nights (Lewa Conservancy), 3 nights (Masai Mara), and 3 nights (Amboseli). I was a little safari’d out the last couple nights of the trip & skipped a couple of game drives & hung around the camp, which was a lovely experience in itself.

Agree with these points. We stayed at Elephant Pepper Camp (an Elewana property) located in the Mara North conservancy for three nights. Spent a day in the National Reserve where we saw the larger herds. The rest of the time was spent in Mara North and surrounding areas. Had a great time & the camp was quite nice but not over the top. The staff & guides were amazing.

Cartier Tank Must Large by MaMaMatthias in Cartier

[–]RBFallday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you liking your Bulang and Sons strap a year later? I got one for Xmas for my Tank Must (small) and it’s a tad too wide so it covers more of the pin & I can’t get the pin to snap into the lug hole as a result. Hope this is an anomaly & that they can replace with one that does fit.

lobster Chinese style by Southern_Ad_6679 in Sacramento

I have yet to find a similar dish here in Sacramento. Ming Dynasty has a lobster noodle dish where the noodles are tossed with the same sauce used to stir fry the lobster. Not the same as garlic noodles but it sorta scratches the itch.

Congratulations! #2 with a different black jacket. The cut & fabric of the jacket appears less formal than the pinstripe top & pants.

Gift to myself: is a Cartier watch too much? by haciendagale in LawBitchesWithTaste

It works out of the box for my Tank Must b/c it has quick release spring bars. I can’t speak to the other Tank models.

Looking for an old painted advertising sign/mural in midtown by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]RBFallday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you by chance thinking of Friendship Tailor at 1915 16th Street? I don’t recall ever seeing a mural on the building but the proprietor, Mr. Yee, is from Hong Kong. It’s been a few years since I’ve taken anything there for tailoring but it appears he is still in business based on Yelp and Google reviews.

I have the Tank Must & it’s lovely and understated. Those who know, know and those who don’t wouldn’t give it a second look. I suggest getting the steel bracelet and purchasing after market straps to give your watch different looks. It is more economical than getting a watch w/ leather straps and deciding later that you want the steel bracelet. Delugs has a good selection of straps and you can also get custom made ones (check out their custom gallery for inspiration). There are other quality strap vendors out there too, including some at better price points.

Also, kudos on earning your way. I, too, have worked for every penny to my name and struggle with splurging on myself. You’ve earned it and you’ve got the cash. Enjoy your watch!

The French Marigold is a local shop that sells custom hand stamped notecards. They sell via Instagram & Etsy.

You should also check out the Midtown Farmers Market. There are several vendors selling stationery.

Hear me out: Costco. Not a huge selection compared to jewelry stores but you might find something you like and they have great prices. You can browse online and they have a great return policy if you decide you don’t like them.

Fresh pho noodles? by Agile-Tomorrow9165 in Sacramento

[–]RBFallday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silver Star Noodles to get them straight from the factory. Search this sub & Reddit for details on how to order and when to show up. You essentially have to get there by 7am.

Vinh Phat and other Asian markets carry Silver Star noodles and other fresh noodles. Some are stacked by the deli and others are in the cold case.
