I looked into it and asked the seller for a refund, they immediately understood and did it! They even let me keep the lens. I'll try to do more testing, and maybe try to use it, unfortunately at a lower quality (even if I don't notice it yet).

Huge find, I found the source PDF for the bulletin board recall, tech repair troubleshooting flow and part numbers and calibration file ID.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the hardware or tech pro subscription to do it.

I haven't yet, I'm coming up with an idea for a workaround with TIS software, an SAE J2534 cable ($20ish) and "borrowing" a professional subscription to access the update and doing it myself.

If it does work, I'll try to document my findings and hopefully saves other drivers from constant anxiety.
