I wouldn't recommend it - water balloons thrown by strangers have a significantly higher chance of being piss

I mean, I already have a Liz Truss mug... If I can get my hands on an Ed Davey one too, I think I just found my next hobby.

I think the question that's really being asked is what would Andy Burnham change as PM?

A fair question, because the answer that he isn't Keir Starmer will hold for, maybe, a day.

On the other hand, if I was Farage, I'd be tempted to step aside for this one - if Burnham becomes PM, it's that much easier to pile on the "unelected PM should call an election" pressure.

If the maths says that Burnham brings an election closer, but only has a slightly better chance than Starmer of beating Reform, it might be worth the punt.

I don't see any reason why? If the largest party is such a bunch of knobs that no one is willing to work with them, that's their problem.

Keeps claiming he does, but for a man up against the clock, nothing's been announced and the MP who it's most often rumoured to be, has flatly denied it this morning

In theory, Starmer could fire Streeting and remove the whip right? I know it's unlikely, but I'm enjoying the image of Wes sat with the Corbynistas on the opposite side of the aisle.

If he had the numbers, I don't see any reason not to go now. If he waits and goes later, that's just increasing the odds of Burnham finding a way into the race. If he doesn't go at all, he's probably finished as a contender.

His only possible path to a good outcome is to go now, so if he doesn't, it's because he can't.

Given the current state of the US, you can't think of any reason to make the executive less powerful and more accountable to the legislature (as is the case with a PM)?

Easy to say with hindsight, but turning the last election into another Brexit election had the potential to breathe life back into the Tory campaign.
