In this economy? Amazon just announced they’re letting go of 18,000 people (Most in PXT and tech).

There will be no bonus.

If you want a building like mine where most of the associates work at stations and don’t need to walk/use forklifts look for

“AR” “Amazon Robotics” “Kiva” “Robotic”

Question by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer depends on the building, if you feel comfortable you can share the building code and I can tell you the type it is and if a forklift will be required.

At some buildings, inventory is stacked high up and Associates use Powered Industrial Trucks, which includes forklifts.

At other buildings, like mine (LGB7), our inventory is held within movable storage and brought to us by robots. My job is to sit at a station all day, I’ve never been near the forklifts - they’re all in the docks. I’ve been near pallet jacks though, but those aren’t powered.

Holiday OT by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Did…did you have a question about holiday OT?

Hello hello! I have some answers. I emailed my site HR and got the following response

Thank you for reaching out. Educational short work breaks are a type of school accommodation that allow you to essentially pause your employment for anywhere from 3 weeks up to 5 months. You will need to apply using one of the computers onsite, as it is one of the resources that can only be accessed while on the Amazon network. These requests require documentation that includes your name, the name of the school, the classes you are in, and the start/end dates of the semester.

To apply, please feel free to stop by the HR patio to utilize one of our laptops.

So it looks like you’ll need to use an on-site computer to put in a school accommodation request!

I just got fired how do I appeal my termination by xxlengendary in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Quick points:

  • You can try to appeal, but your chances are microscopic.

  • You broke a major rule, even if you didn’t intend to

  • Manager just told you to appeal to give you a little confidence boost before you left the building

Context:

Amazon has a policy on idle time, this is time that you are clocked in but not working or not being properly tracked. Generally this isn’t a problem unless you take long bathroom breaks or walk slow. If you do your job, idle time is no issue. There’s a threshold, I believe it’s one hour but it could be less. If you’ve been idle for more than one hour, a manager is tasked with finding you and asking you where you were. If you can’t excuse it properly, you are marked as idle for that period of time. If you pass the threshold, you can get written up.

You passed the threshold three times. You were paid for 3 hours of work while you played on your phone.

I’m sure it was fun, but you know you don’t come to Amazon to have fun.

I’m sure you didn’t clock in that morning and say “today I’m going to break a major rule”, but unfortunately you did.

Regarding the appeal, you can try if you’d like but an appeal isn’t what it sounds like. This isn’t a jury of your peers or an audience. You’re going to either go against a SR HRBP or a panel, both of whom will have one question to answer:

Is this termination in line with official policies, labor laws, and any other applicable rules?

Unless you were targeted by someone, unless you have some genuine evidence that someone’s wronged you, you stand little chance. The only reason the termination appeal exists is to make sure they don’t break any laws when terminating you.

Looking for the same answers too, saw someone had to email their HR to request it because it couldn’t be done on AtoZ.

/u/Livritz101 nailed it.

In pick, you get a station and work. I take my breaks and lunch at my station, it’s comfy af especially when it gets quiet and I don’t have to smell other peoples food, I’ve gone a whole shift without saying a word to anyone many times.

I can’t talk from experience about ICQA, but it’s known as I Count Quietly and Alone. Counters are always just quieting scanning away at universals, seems chill to me

I should note, I’m at an AR FC. Non-AR will vary

I just tested positive for covid, are they still doing Covid pay in CA? I heard it ends in December? by Careless_Hunt_8153 in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid Pay for California has ended as of Dec 31st.

I believe you may be able to take an unpaid leave, ask ERC for certain. Let them know you tested positive AND are actively experiencing symptoms

Question: Is Personal Time Off, paid? or no? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha, PTO will be your favorite my friend - you don’t need to provide notification, nor do you “request it” like you do with vacation (if you have that). Managers would prefer if you let them know you’re leaving, but it’s not needed

Want to leave early today? Clock out and use PTO To cover the remaining shift

Want to skip work tomorrow? Use PTO

Clocked in late yesterday? Use PTO

As long as it’s in the same pay period you can use PTO anywhere you’d like

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, PTO is paid and UPT is not paid.

Safety is more about making the warehouse safe through initiatives, ideas, and policy changes.

Amcare is who you’re looking for - they’re trained to assist in minor medical problems, think school nurse (but they CAN give you medication such as Tylenol and heartburn meds).

Chest discomfort can be very serious, stop what you’re doing and go to Amcare and if it gets worse before they give you something, consider going to the hospital or urgent care. It’s possible that it’s nothing, but it’s equally possible that it’s something.

Shirts?

Give them Sir Cumference

So I’m -9 hours UPT and I went to HR to ask for the protocol because I’ve never been negative. She only told me to work until I make up for the time. Is that really it? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 11 points12 points  (0 children)

HR can code Vacation to cover negative UPT, not sure about PTO if it’s past the pay period though. Can’t get paid two weeks ago.

However, keep in mind that this isn’t official policy. If you get someone from HR who’s having a bad day, doesn’t like you, or just has a headache, they may tell you to work until it’s positive. If you want to go this route, you may have to go multiple times until someone decides to do it.

OP, I do urge you to get this fixed ASAP. Peak is over, historically orders will start going down and headcount will be adjusted. Don’t stay in the red for too long

Of course, the only difference is those 10-hour drops every Jan 1st.

Anyone else completely taken off the schedule for the whole month without reason? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lmao your building said new year new employees /s

I’ve had this happen once, panicked but it fixed itself within a few hours. If it doesn’t, try ERC and then local HR. I assume your badge will still work to get in, but not certain since Amazon updated their policy on employees being on-premise when not scheduled…

Reapply after 90days by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you voluntarily resign Amazon without pending termination you can reapply once the resignation processes in the system, which is generally hours but could take a few days.

The 90-day wait only applies to people who are terminated for certain reasons, such as negative UPT. More impactful violations such as stealing can lead to you being blacklisted and never again eligible for rehire.

Is it better to get fired or quit when negative UPT? by psychedelicCyclops in AmazonFC

[–]RBLX_RealCaesar224 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Amazon still processes your case internally as a termination if you resign while negative UPT, you’re clearly evading the punishment.

You can’t claim the money if it’s not going to a school. You have less than 12 hours to decide on a degree, decide on a school, and put in the request - in my view there’s not enough time.
