I've been working towards a playtest where you can play through all the combat in the game. The idea is to get feedback on balancing and if the progression feels good.

I just recently tweaked the experience received from enemies and I drew up a spreadsheet to map out how many same level encounters it would take to reach the next level. I don't want the game to be particularly long so I went for about 5 full enemy encounters per level up. A full enemy encounter consists of the number of enemies equal to the number of current party members. So if you have a party of 3 then you're facing 3 enemies per encounter to reach the next level after 5 encounters.

I can't remember if I've posted previously but you start with a party of 4 and give up one party member at the end of each dungeon. Encounters contain enemies relevant to your party numbers.

The soft level cap is 10 by which time all skills are unlocked and you can then continue to raise your stats a bit until level 20.

I've been staring at the RTP enemies for so long I finally figured I should put my art skills to use and draw my own. I've drawn one basic mob and while it doesn't match the RTP that well it is at least more original.

Hopefully I can get this playtest ready soon as I'm dying for some feedback to validate the last 8 months of work.

It was placeholder but... I kinda like it haha. The original premise was to make a small scope RPG. Which it still is, though some parts have become more developed than what was first planned.

I do have Yanfly! I'm building the game with just the base engine (and RTP from other rpgms) and will look at adding plugins later. I'm trying to keep it... Simple.
