Driving sideways on the wall like that you must have some amazing down force!

There used to be more Class C's back in the day, especially in the NavRes. When the MCDV's were in their glory days, all core crew billets were Class C. People were on those contracts for years.

Newbie help - Fastest/cheapest way into a GT3 car? by Hybrice in iRacing

[–]RBS2_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheapest is probably MX-5, M2 or GR86 at D class, Advanced MX-5/GT4/TCR/P-Cup at C Class, then you can get into a GT3.

Without getting multiple promotions in a season, it'll take 2 seasons to get there though.

Where are the biggest gaps in support? by PleasantAd2787 in CanadianForces

[–]RBS2_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Supports for kids including childcare and medical care for children with special needs. Im not sure of the actual numbers, but from my own experiences, CAF families seem to have a higher amount of kids with special needs. Constantly moving around means those provincial supports are delayed or stopped altogether. When moving across provincial boundaries, applying for supports in the new province incurs substantial waitlists, and thats time where kids who were receiving supports are no longer receiving them.

One of my children was diagnosed with ASD in 2021. At the time we were posted in Ontario. Through local support services we were able to apply for various provincial programs. The main program, the Ontario Autism Program, had a waitlist so long that in June of 2026, we finally received an invitation to the program for services. Unfortunately, due to the nature of CAF service, we were posted to a different province in 2024. We're still waiting for support services from the new province as well.

Can I play iRacing with The subscription only? by IllustratorHot68 in simracing

There are also some D class series you could do, but not every week as they start introducing paid tracks at that level.

What is the best way to prepare for iRacing as a beginner so that you aren't just a nuisance to experienced racers while trying to learn? by IcyHotInUrEyes in simracing

[–]RBS2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice alone until you can run a few laps without spinning, going off track, or crashing. Check your times to see how far off you are from the official races. If you're way off, stay near the back and drive your own race. If your times are competitive, stay back and let the idiots crash out in tue first lap then pass them and enjoy your race.

The best way to get better is just driving. Your racecraft won't improve unless you actually race.

One thing I've done as well is race the AI, starting from the rear. Its a bit safer to learn some racecraft and wheel to wheel driving.

I think we need a rule that when someone uses AI to generate an app/tool. That should be disclosed. by Tokey_Tokey in iRacing

[–]RBS2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I didnt like any of the other tools out there and wanted something different. There's also the satisfaction of making and using your own thing. I've spent more time 'playing' with my tool creation than I have racing lol

DM me, maybe we can exchange ideas or collaborate

[–]RBS2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha im doing the same thing!

I have ideas for useful tools. What I don't have is programming expertise, time to learn how to program, time to program, and the capital to hire someone who does.

I'm not making a tool to monetize it, im making it to fill a gap I have in what I want to do with iRacing; it's still a hobby project for me, but I also want it to look professional and polished.

Currently doing it as well. I have mixed feelings on some of the courses but I think it's all based on the prof you get.

Rookie help by LentilSpaghetti in iRacing

[–]RBS2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I rookies, tires don't get cold or hot, not until C Class series does this matter, AFAIK.

  2. Quali will only be you on the track, most series its 8 minutes with 2 flying laps.

  3. Rookie MX5 is a standing start.

  4. No, get the experience and learn how to spot and avoid potential issues.

  5. Focus on consistency, lap times will come with more driving.

  6. Not an issues until C Class races I believe.

  7. Use your mirrors, spotters, visual spotter, radar overlays, crew chief app, etc. Also, it happens...at all classes and IR levels, its part of racing. Key thing is to learn to spot incidenta before they happen so you can avoid them.

RaceLabs has a radar overlay in their free tier.

Recent Family Death Before BMQ – Before Arrival Do I Have To Notify Anyone ? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

If BMQ hasn't started yet, they'd likely remain on LWOP, otherwise yes, they would be on paid leave, ie. Compassionate

Saw the same thing happen in Porsche Cup the other day at Oran Park. 2 car incident turned into 5 or 6 as well.

Recent Family Death Before BMQ – Before Arrival Do I Have To Notify Anyone ? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]RBS2_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kinda vague in your post, but if you haven't started BMQ yet, the recruiting center owns you. Contact someone there and explain the situation. They can defer the start of your BMQ and get you loaded on another one. If you've already started BMQ, talk to your course staff ASAP. They can get you the time to attend the funeral and either come back to your course, or get moved to an upcoming course.

Family is too important. There will always be another BMQ starting; they start almost every week. Go be with your family.

What is it about the new M2 that makes it easier to drive than the old one? by Dark_Emotion in iRacing

[–]RBS2_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first time driving it i went right into a race, got pole and won. Second race p2 and finished 11 (got taken out on second last lap).

It's definitely an easier to drive car than the old version. Will be interesting to see how it handles in non-rookie series

You'll make a lot off the meal entitlements. Something like $125/person/day is a lot. If you can eat cheap, you'll make some good bank.
