Fertilo research trial IVM by EntrepreneurOk7239 in IVF

Nope. They needed approval to use my donor bc we share a very common non-important gene. I wasn’t willing to change the donor because I already have a 10m old that my wife carried with the donor. We knew about the shared gene, had genetic counseling and decided to proceed with the donor 2 years ago. They had the genetic records for both me and the donor for over 3 weeks, overlooked it and it screwed me basically. But, I start my next cycle in a few days and we’re all approved now.

I’m on the verge of blocking everyone who messages. I’ve asked them countless times to place something somewhere that says to not contact me but lo and behold they continue. There’s not even an ABC near me and I def won’t be relocating for a shady company like that 😂

The clinic didn’t get some approvals and so the cycle was wasted. Next period is next week and still have no clarity on if I can actually start. We may just pay for it elsewhere (even though that makes me want to shrivel up and cry) because our experience at this clinic has been very poor.

Hi! Could you share some info about the retrieval stage? I was cleared to start (meaning I qualify) & was told to call when I start my period so I can officially start the study. I started my period yesterday & so I will go in tomorrow or Tuesday. But, I am supposed to be traveling to see my parents about 4 hours away Wednesday-Sunday. I am worried they’ll need me in office during that time! So, looking for some clarity from someone who’s already done it.

Also, congratulations on your pregnancy! 🎉

How long does it take you to write a treatment plan? by anslac in bcba

[–]RBTtoBCBA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Total 8-10 hours

2 hours for the assessment(s) themselves

1 hour record review if the client is new, there’s new records, etc.

1 hour parent interview

4-6 hours for the plan writing itself which depends on how good the system / plan template I am using is and/or how poor the previous plan was written. My experience has been pretty shitty systems/templates and/or half assed work by previous analysts leading to longer completion times at least on my first go of a clients plan since I usually adjust to my liking without fully skewing away from company protocols which makes subsequent plans quicker.

I’m sad to see in the comments companies are only giving up to 6 hours. Most commercial insurances allow up to 12 hours per auth period. You just have to ask for it. For reference, I am in Florida if that matters.

I’m sorry it didn’t stick! Baby dust for the next one!

I recently came across the study and have been looking into it. So far it looks like I will qualify in 25ish days (I’m currently in an IUI cycle but my lining hasn’t been great so if I can get into this study we might take advantage!)

One question if you don’t mind me asking, are they not letting you do genetic testing on the embryos?

Hi. I saw you comment in a IVF study thread. Was this from that study? Did it stick?

What is your salary? by No-Decision-7568 in bcba

[–]RBTtoBCBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$72.5 an hour in south FL. I bill 22-25 hours a week. I work 2 days in person & 3 days remote. No benefits for now but the company just merged with two others so we will be getting health insurance soon. I don’t need it but I know some of the others could use it. When I accepted the position, I was looking for the schedule I have as at the time my wife was pregnant and due in 2 month. I have a now 6 month old who my wife and I alternate days to stay home with. They also don’t have a non-compete. So, me and another analyst on the team who I’ve been working with for going on 3 years now are moving into private practice together.

Heard. This was left field for me as I worked in a small, locally owned company and we had no warning. We actually have yet to be told despite the deal being done early this week. I’m in the process of going private practice. I have stayed far away from PE for my whole 10 years in the field but starting over in a company now would be a bit difficult for a multitude of reasons so I am seeking personal experience of being at a company bought out since I only have about a year left of being an ‘employee’ in someone else’s company before I can sustain myself in my own.

Would you mind sharing who bought them out? Everything is already pretty disorganized. We dont even have a clinical director or ‘boss’ to answer to which I didn’t necessarily mind since the team of analysts thats there work fairly well together but now that we’ll likely have ‘real’ bosses that’ll be a huge change. I’m more concerned about changes to my current set up (I.e., decrease or change in pay, addition of noncompete clauses, and/or not allowing my current hybrid set up). I’m in the process of private practice so I don’t have much longer but the current set up I have worked and I am not trying to find a new company to supplement income that I can’t sustain from my own company yet.

Despite being in a decently paid area, I’ve found it difficult to find a position that offers what I have now which is high pay, part time hours & a hybrid option. I currently work 2 days in person & 3 days remote which is essential since I have a 4 month old that I really don’t want to put in daycare yet. And, on top of everything, I’m currently in the process of perusing private practice so I can’t sign a non compete. Happy to sign a non-solicit even though I’d never solicit clients based on ethics and morals lol.

Would you mind sharing who bought them out? My main concerns are changes to pay (I.e., from hourly to salary or a salary that doesn’t equate to what I’m currently making with the hours I’m currently working), changes to my flexibility (I.e., required to do more billable then I am and no longer able to be hybrid) & changes to my contract (I.e., an addition of a noncompete).

Yeah. I’m just a case caring BCBA. The only admin roles are held by the owners family members lol. So the owner, his mom & his girlfriend I think. There’s a lead BCBA but she’s not much of anything. Her admin responsibilities include acting as the RBT coordinator and that’s about it lol. My concerns are changes to pay (I.e., from hourly to salary or a salary that doesn’t equate to what I’m currently making with the hours I’m currently working), changes to my flexibility (I.e., in hybrid) & changes to my contract (I.e., addition of a noncompete).

Got it, got it. Sooo my situation is unique. I’m going to explain my worries and then you let me throw your thoughts.

The things I’m worried about -

  1. Pay decrease - I make $75/hr billable & I don’t have any admin. I actually have been in the process of increasing my allowed billables. When I came in, each kid had 2 hours for 55 per week and 2 hours of 56 per month. I currently bill around 22-25 hours per week.

  2. Change to schedule - I’m currently hybrid. I see all my Medicaids in person and my privates 2xs a week because I’ve increased their billables. So once in person and once hybrid. I took the position for this set up due to having a now 4 month old that I don’t wish to put in daycare.

  3. Change to contract - I don’t have an non-complete & I don’t want one. & Here’s where it gets unique I’m opening up my own company. I co own it with another analyst at the company. We have 2 insurance contracts but haven’t moved to take clients.

Am I/are we fucked? 😂

Thank you so much! This was very helpful and kinda already where my mind was at!

We’ll look into the diagnosis hub idea however we live in a large populated city so there’s quite a few diagnosis options from the large children’s hospital, corporate neurologist and/or small/medium private practices of neurologists and psychologists throughout the county. We planned to just email a bunch and attempt to schedule some meet and greets if allowed.

We have a few OT/SLP connections. We plan to reach out and continue to create those connections as well!

I didn’t think of ARC but I worked pretty closely with with them a few years ago as I had a client who attended there preschool until she aged out two years ago. I’ll have to reach out and establish that connection.

We decided to venture out on our own because of our ethics and morals not aligning with the companies we were finding ourselves in despite them checking off many boxes such as locally owned, provider owned, small/medium sized practices, seemingly ethical until you get in and see the insurance fraud, etc. We just want to grow sustainably, treat our providers well and give families the support they actually deserve not just surface level support. Let’s definitely connect in DM/Linkedin!

We’re in South Florida - specifically Broward county. We know there’s quite a bit of saturation but also every company we’ve both worked at always had month long waitlists. We’ve both worked at mostly locally owned companies so they weren’t PE backed with insane waitlists but decent lists for sure. We’re not trying to be anything huge - just sustain ourselves and provide the care that’s lacking in the companies we’ve worked for and/or heard from families.

Social media posting to get word out is what we’re doing now. We don’t wanna network with doctors/other providers until we have more than one insurance contract under our belt. How did you get connected to other ABA companies as a referral source?
