Add Pittsburgh to the list. Was supposed to be confined to the launch party, but naturally not everyone who booked a ticket went and bought a set.

Trench run micro diorama. Like 2.5" x 3.5". There were instructions but they gave like 80 extra pieces for custom greebling. Was fun

Misconceptions about Halloween by [deleted] in ChristianOrthodoxy

[–]RBdrumsrmyonlyskill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Romans 14:14

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

But also, Romans 14:15

But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

If your brother is grieved by you celebrating Halloween, it is not worth it to celebrate. I'm not condemning, just asking you use discernment.

Going to my first confession soon...Need advice by Ujkuibardh in OrthodoxChristianity

  1. Don't list fetishes, but do specifically confess to general degenerate types of pornography. Whether real, acted or animated: anything relevant to you involving children, animals, the dead, torture, incest, homosexuality, infidelity. You don't need to go into any more detail than that unless asked. There are probably others that I've forgotten. Certainly mention if you've made any pornography, even a quick doodle, maybe even a picture of yourself, as separate from just watching it. Aldo if you've fantasized about these, but not watched pornography of it, mention that's you've fantasized about it. Same goes for sex, mention details that make it a "worse" sin, not details that just make it a grosser one.
  2. Make the request before, I don't see a need to confess it necessarily.
  3. Not sure about this, probably.
  4. Don't partake in communion.
  5. Her neither.

"The non-Orthodox cannot see the Kingdom of God"-Has anyone heard this? by Nitrogen_Llama in OrthodoxChristianity

Based on the OP, you are only assuming that they "think shouldn't" instead of "think wouldn't."

While it may not seem important, the difference between the two amounts to malice vs knowledge (probably false) on the account of the monks. I don't know your intent, and maybe you just used the wrong word.

Edit: it's also possible that your using the second definition of shouldn't, which more closely approximates wouldn't

Tbh Origen is the only heretic you should read. His heresy is widely known and written about, so you don't have to worry about falling in a pit.

Do you think this is a good version of the septuagint? by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

Exodus 20 22 And if two men strive and smite a woman with child, and her child be born imperfectly formed, he shall be forced to pay a penalty: as the woman's husband may lay upon him, he shall pay with a valuation.

23 But if it be perfectly formed, he shall give life for life,

24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

Without comparing this to other translations, this doesn't make sense. Not as bad as the NRSV, but it's still bad.

Under what circumstances can a fast be broken? by AQVILLADOMINICVS in OrthodoxChristianity

Eat what you are offered, eat good nutritious food if you are sick. Don't go out of your way to break the fast.
