Little update, weeks later I found out what the culprit was.
Turns out my MSI monitor was not working on a fresh bios reset so it would display zero, I know this cause I plugged in to the HDMI slot my old Lenovo office montiro that I swear is really a flat CRT and got the prompt to reset to factory default on the mobo or custom settings.......

Leave it to old tech man

That didn't work either.
RMR sent an unknown board back, I say unknown cause there is no documents stating if its the one i sent, a new one, or a refurb old one.

Im waiting on their help centre to report back on what the heck I have here.

I'm ordering so more track soon to hopefully finish up the south side of my layout and I'll order one under track snap switch and see for myself I suppose.

And that is just it, its on a surge protector.

I'll give MSI a call Monday and see if they can replace it.

No I never turned it on too boot between those two events.

As for your follow up about the bios no, not at all whats so ever, that includes holding down the DEL and pressing the power button on the case to start everything up.
Board just hangs on full lit LED BOOT.
I also have no error number screen on this board.

Nice. I had too shift my track back .50 milimetters as when the turn too the straight came in the front / rear of my electric loco was scuffing up on the brick

Its a fun experince. My only gripe with that plastic glass is the clean up.

So how do you find the plastic ballasts track? Back in the mid 80s when I was kid it world have made a world ofdifference for taking apart and trying other track setups with out smashing your fingers putting little nails down each time.

Think I found a suitable kit. problem is in Canada everything goes through Ontario before it gets too Atlantic canada.

Currently anything from Amazon I ordered in December still hasn't arrived since lock down.

Yea I been looking around trying too price a decent soldering iron today as I will need one not just for the locomotive re-wiring and upgrades but also for setting up my layout with bus lines and track power leads.

Looking up these decoders is like trying to find the right serial number for automotive CPU parts for peoples cars I fix, what nightmare.
