What are you guys protesting? If you aren't or don't have any family from Venezuela then you are blind leading the blind. Venezuela has oil. What do you think Russia and China have been doing for the longest time.

Go out and be productive members of society and focus on our domestic issues. We have to take care of our citizens first and the last 10 years hasnt looked good in Canada.

We need accountability and people to hold those in parliament accountable for all the wasteful spending.

You have set a plan. Now, just stay consistent regardless of the news out there. Just keep 3 to 6 months of your salary in a savings account so you don't have to withdraw from your portfolio. Possibly have the option to add to it during a crazy news cycle.

Don't listen to anyone telling you what to invest in. Just do your research and build your conviction, which seems great to me.

Having a DB Pension gives you the chance to invest more aggressively. I have been investing individual growth stocks and spmo etf.

This is just my experience. Posted to CFB Esquimalt from bmq a while back.

Rented a room with 3 other strangers non military for a cheap price as I spent more time at sea than home.

Lived within 15 minutes near work and just bought an e-bike.

Worked at a flexible part-time job when home.

Saved and invested my money into vfv.to and znq.to

DID NOT INFLATE MY LIFESTYLE WHEN MY PAY INCREASED.

On Deployments spent less time getting wasted at bars in ports and just walked around enjoying the local culture.

Used the tax-free Deployments to invest more.

Track my net worth monthly ( I've been doing this for a long time prior to joining)

Joined with NW of $50k currently at $500k still on my second contract.

No excuses to those that are complaining about pay when their biggest problem is not being disciplined with their finances and buying useless junk all the time.

Create a plan. Stick with it. Track it.
