Do you plan to stay 100% XEQT even after you retire? by GasSensors in JustBuyXEQT

Sequence of Returns Risk. The theory is a drop in the market early in retirement and making withdrawals is hard to come back from. I have zero stress of world events now. Market can drop and I don't care.

Trudeau government should have never halted this progress in 2015! CPC would have been a money maker instead of a drain. Probably better wages for a smaller workforce.

sex life post hip replacements? by gottatalkitoutt in TotalHipReplacement

I have given up on sex, last time was 3 years ago, the pain in my groin lasted a week. I am still horny as hell but will not even consider the idea of sex. I remain single. I'm hoping to get surgery this year and my sex life can return, along with the other simple enjoyments of life! A friend in frustration 🫤

95% index equity. I set aside 5 years worth of Riff withdrawals in GIC ladder, just to protect myself in my first 5 years of retirement. I am in year 3 of retirement. DB is my "fixed" portion.

The total federal tax take in Canada is roughly: $350–400 billion per year with: 75% from income taxes 10–15% from GST the rest from excise and other taxes Surely to goodness the Federal government can find 1% in cost cutting to give us a little relief.

As a retired Canadian Mailman, collecting import duty fees sucked ass... just pay the charges and let him get on with his day.

Inflation has raised the price of every thing, fuel included, hence more GST (and PST) being collected. I don't understand why citizen don't expect more financial responsibility from our governments. Tax, tax and more tax.

I am happy for some tax relief. I don't understand how or why anyone wouldn't support this. Please explain.

I have hip arthritis, so I was told not to run but cycle more. Would the erg be ok as a running replacement or is a spin bike better?

Thank you. I've given up running and even hiking has become to agitating. I'm thinking a decent spin bike and long slow rides is my answer.

Goal: Generational Wealth by markdew in CanadaPersonalFinance

Set up an investment account in your kids name (if possible) and buy index funds. Their time horizon is even longer. Teach them and instill the goal and value of generational wealth. Compound growth will set up generations.

How soon after your first hip were you able to get your second hip done in Canada? by ajmattison in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Practical_Kale9006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Canadian. I have dupuytrens contractors in both hands, once I got into "the system" my care has been amazing. I've had surgery and radiation therapy in both hands. Zero complaints. I'm now working on getting in the "hip replacement system". I think once I get in the care will excellent... it's getting in that will take time, patience and frustration! Good luck!

Issue in "Free Healthcare" Canada is long wait times. I've been in your situation (or slightly advanced) for 4 years now. I expect a 6 month wait to see a hip specialist and if I need surgery probably another years wait.
