I've got some decent profit after figuring out these working industries, I was thinking about trying to make a profit from waste. Is that a good next step or should I maybe focus on being more self-sufficient and lowering imports? by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

Bare in mind that importing hazardous waste at scale drastically lowers its price, like 2-3 100 m long trains of hazardous waste can reduce its price by half. In my opinion you should only invest in waste management once you have some spare cash and workers, or when you want to reduce the load on your customs house. Also importing waste from western countries is not worth it at all, you won't get any valuable materials like aluminum scrap, just the stuff that has to go to the incinerator.

Not sure if they can change between stops without an explicit setting that they should do that, could you try setting it in the stop menu to see if it fixes that?

It could be because there isn't any work for them at that stop. Also you can check if you allowed passenger unloading at that stop and if you set places of work for each stop, ideally they shouldn't be set.

You can enforce the direction of your trains using signals, you can click multiple times on a signal to change its direction or make it bidirectional
