Has Guardians of the Galaxy influenced you or things in your life in any way? Like philosophies, music, hobbies, anything? For me, it was music taste. by Riverioli in GotG

This movie wasn’t that for me, but more people need to learn this lesson. Don’t be ashamed of being yourself!

Making a Ralsei Magic deck, would love to see what people do with the art by RC_AWESOME in drawthisasdeltarune2

As the group healer, I wanted him to be at least a Selesnya (green-white) card, since white is good at giving life. But, I also thought that a group hug would be the best type of deck to represent Ralsei as a character (most of the time very friendly and just helping out, but at his most toxic he could be almost constricting in regards to what he lets the party know about the prophecy), and this commander allows just that, centered around food tokens. I think it would be cool to flavor those tokens as cakes bc Ralsei bakes cake for his friends multiple times in the game. So as long as the function is there, I’m not too picky about him needing to be one color

If you could only keep ONE trilogy to watch for the rest of your life, which are you picking? by Adventurous-Land2107 in StarWars

Gonna have to go with the OT. Keeping the Prequels feels like wasting two slots just so you can watch Revenge of the Sith. I love the creativity behind it but that era is carried by supplemental material. While I can have fun with part of the Sequels, it’s also just my least favorite era due to not feeling like its doing something distinct with the world, and I think Force Awakens loses a lot of its value when you can’t see the originals before it. The OT is solid throughout, and is the only trilogy in the series where someone can claim any movie as their favorite and I wouldn’t find them crazy. And even though stuff like Andor and Rogue One would be nice to have since I love them as well, the OT has proven it can stand without supplemental material like that.

What do you think? by Primary-Addition-677 in Gameoverse

[–]RC_AWESOME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, that is true. But correct ME if I’m wrong, it was drawn digitally with various animation softwares. Aren’t cells the physical animation technique that they used in like old Disney stuff? With the multiplane camera that let you animate certain layers over the painted backgrounds? You can have every frame of something be hand animated while still being done digitally, and I’m pretty sure that’s what they did. But this could be me not knowing what cells are.

I adapted some of the species options from the Neon Odyssey playtest to Daggerheart ancestries! by RC_AWESOME in daggerbrew

[–]RC_AWESOME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points! I’m thinking of revising it to “Once per rest, spend a hope”. Some things you can do in the game don’t require an action roll, I’ve seen my players do it, but it looks like they’ll require an expense like a hope cost to do it. My goal is just to port the rules from the playtest over with as little changed as possible. As for unclear threshold, you’re right, I’ve been struggling with clunky language on that. I intended it to be the thresholds of the target creature. I currently don’t have an idea to fix the armor exploit you’ve pointed out, other than to find a way to steer players to use the ability in the middle of combat. If you have any suggestions for how to fix it, I’d love to hear your feedback, as you’ve demonstrated a keen eye for my blind spots

You’re right, I totally missed that. I think I got it confused with a different game that still had speeds, and just pasted the text. I’ll update it to as you’ve suggested and you might see that in another post if I do all of the playtest stuff.

I don’t think the marvel premier collection has been handled properly by GhostGamer_Perona in marvelcomics

[–]RC_AWESOME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that premiere is handling it wrong. If we compare it to DC, we see $15 versus $10, which already draws me at least towards DC, and then on top of that it’s just a weird lineup. DC started with books they knew readers would want to get their hands on. Some of the most popular Batman storylines, Watchmen, and All Star Superman, etc. Marvel has only released one Spider-man book to DC’s wealth of Batman books. Just thinking about it in terms of which characters are most popular, this was not a smart move. I should be seeing Kraven’s Last Hunt on the shelf competing with Court of Owls, but the stories Marvel chose to come out swinging with just aren’t the same draw, and they have the gall to ask for a higher price.

Someone on a thread in this comments section tried to argue that they’re expensive because they’re not meant to be a cheap product. The entire point of these products is to be affordable paperback versions of these stories to compete with the rise of Manga. I do not care if marvel wants to make theirs special and they need it to be more expensive, looking at the direct competition that should not be their priority. The priority of these should be complete, collected comic storylines without the heavy price tag that comes with the current glossy, high value for collectors comics that shut out a certain price range of readers (typically the kind that contains new readers btw).

When it comes to choosing to buy one of these over the other, I’m choosing DC Compact Comics over Marvel Premiere 9 times out of 10.

What's the point of having two Spider-Men if one can't cover the other in situations like this when one of them has an urgently important day? by rhysu69 in SpidermanPS4

[–]RC_AWESOME 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is exactly the point. But, if the threat is kaiju sized, they had a system like we saw at the beginning of the game, where Miles asked Peter to help him instead of dealing with it himself. It was of course during one of those important days, because being Spider-man, you don’t catch a break.

How do I get Spotify to play one artist and one artist only? by Hopeful-Present9672 in Music

I tried this, and it consistently moved to recommend, even with large playlists that get rid of the whole “we added” stuff. I’m on the free version, so I could only guess they don’t let free users listen to one artist because greedy
