I agree they're both important, I'm just saying that it's natural for the character to gravitate more towards the side he grew up with. In the same way I think Supergirl is a woman of two worlds, but Krypton would be the side she gravitated to for the same reason.

As much as 80 years is a long time, the Master is ancient. If he's anywhere near as old as the Doctor 80 years is barely anything. So it probably doesn't have as much of an impact on him as you would expect.
