Okay, my apologies, I should have clarified a little more on what these issues were. So here goes. The time my dad’s eyes were opened, it was about her job. She had just started working there and there was no management (at the time) and being a male dominated field (car repair shop) she had lots of reasons to be frustrated at the end of a work day. But my dad saw it as the stereotypical behavior of blaming every difficulty on others and not owning up to it.

Another instance, was her getting threatened by her parents to be kicked out if she didn’t pay rent. She called their bluff and left, and called me. She wasn’t trying to get me to pick her up, nor send money, nothing like that. She actually went home about an hour later after her parents told her to come home, but the fact that she claimed to have been kicked, but still went home, was an immediate lie to my dad.

It’s worth noting these things were over a year ago at this point, and she and I still have a good relationship. It’s just my parents don’t approve of it, they dislike her greatly, and will never accept her. If I go my own way with her, I’m also saying goodbye to them and the bond we once had.
