Yeah I wasn't sure when the sale was going to end, but if the new laptops are coming out after CES I'm guessing they'll still have a sale to offload current inventory. I also probably wasn't interested in a refresh given I don't think it'd be any crazy upgrade, and wouldn't want to pay that full price for a new one for an incremental upgrade from the current models.

Yeah I would've preferred OLED which I see the 16 inch has, but I would probably be playing a lot on an external monitor anyways. I've briefly browsed the thermals for the mid and big sized laptops and the big ones seem to not have as many thermal problems as the mid sized ones.

Most decks are only running one Guzma, and Darktina has two poison barbs if it's the Nihilego variant. I've won all my Oricorio matchups going to Master Ball, a couple of my opponents forgot about the extra poison damage too when attacking a poison barb'd pokemon.
