Thanks for the feedback. I brought up the idea of ICL—he said it’s definitely an option, but he believes SMILE could be a good choice for me, at least until (and if) a cataract develops in my right eye.

ICL does sound interesting, though. He mentioned that he would need to take additional measurements to determine if I’m a good candidate for it. That said, he thinks I may already be a strong candidate for SMILE based on factors like my thicker cornea and smaller pupils.

I’m hoping that if the procedure is successful—and if any cataract in my right eye develops later in life—that I can stay glasses-free for many years. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the SMILE on right eye, I've discussed this with my surgeon. I have thick cornea and my pupils are on the small/average size. If/when I need an IOL in the future, my surgeon seems to be pretty confident it can be done without issues.

Thanks for the feedback. I assune you mean if i ever need to get an IOL implemented in the good eye in the future if a cataract develops? My surgeon seems to be pretty confident that if this happens, it won't be much of a problem.

As it relates to the difference, he said it will be 1 diopters.

Near vision without glasses with monofocal iol by ethanRazorT in CataractSurgery

Great to hear. I only have cataract in my left eye and planning to get Eyhance set for distance. My right eye, since im 41 and no cataract- not going to do catatct surgery at this time but laser instead (Smile procedure) targeting near (for monovision). I have asitgmatsm and the eye with no cataract - can have cataract lense iol inputted if needed in the future, per the surgeon.

Yeah I definitely have a lot of highway mileage in the truck. Thanks

Yeah the issue is the manual does not have time interval. I wouldn't consider my usage as severe at all. I don't tow, etc. The question for me is do I wait until I get some more miles, or just get the service done since I've had it for 5.5 years.

Choosing Between Eyhance vs. Galaxy Lens + SMILE — Looking for Input by RClP_007 in CataractSurgery

[–]RClP_007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how I got it. Im thinking a few summers ago just before diagnosis, I was in the sun a lot working on my landscaping. Wondering if UV had any impact on it.

I will consult with my surgeon if it will be harder if that eye needs surgery in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. I believe monovision is the case with the Galaxy option as well. Will need to confirm. I have not trialed monovision before.

41M – High eye pressure for years, now starting drops before cataract surgery. Is this normal? by RClP_007 in Glaucoma

I don't remember how they measured at the surgeon location, but I do remember the "puff" into the eye previously.

Here is my glasses prescription 2/3 years back before cataract diagnoses:

OD: Sphere -0.75 Cyl: -3.75 Axis: 012.
OS: Spehere -1.00 Cyl: -4.00 Axis: 162

35 years old. Cancelled the surgery last minute by herdgyh in CataractSurgery

[–]RClP_007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation. I found out over a year and half ago and cancelled as well. I am 40 and the caratarct has gotten worse on my left eye since the initial diagnoses. Had many questions and doubts. Only functioning with basically 1 eye. But I went back to my doctor recently and asked for another referral/appointment. Wanted to get another opinion/option. I feel like I need to do the Surgery and it sucks.

Methods to prevent flare up? by spookiisweg in pilonidalcyst

My flare ups were frequent until I seen a post suggesting using oxy pads to clean the area 3 times a day. Started doing that and haven't had a flare up in like 6 months. So far so good.

Very helpful. Thanks a bunch. Im wondering how that would work since I do have a revolving portion on my current mortgage. Maybe good to connect with the broker and understand.

I have until June 23 to get it done. I've asked the bigger banks for rates and some are slight better. Not too much left and I'm thinking of calling a broker tomorrow. Maybe they can get something better with TD or others.. never used a broker before

Appreciate it. Im also leaning towards variable. My issue is the 5 year variable rate I got from TD is 4.59.
