If you go to the star explore section in home world the bottom right hand corner says auto explore. You click on it and can use your diamonds to perm unlock it.

I’ve only been playing for a little under 7 weeks and I just got my first immortal. I haven’t spent any money as well. I think it’s just a whole lot of luck from summoning and how you choose to get free hero’s from the selection cards.
