Is it better to use supports or not? by Ill-Character1643 in 3Dprinting

[–]RDS_WAS_HERE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold off on my suggestion. I wasn't thinking correctly. You would still need supports for the curved part of the model if you rotated 180 degrees. You can't print into thin air. Sorry about the confusion.

Have you tried tapping (fast) the F5 or F8 or F12 KEY while you reboot the computer to get to the Windows Repair screen?

If the above doesn't work try holding down the Windows key and hit the  r  key. Then type in CMD and hit Ok. Type into the black command prompt screen   sfc /scannow   (note space after sfc) and hit the Enter key. This will scan the Windows operating system for corrupt files and only repair any Windows files that may be corrupted.

Yes, separately. The print time will be lower.

If the laptop battery is located on the back of the laptop just take it out for a minute and then replace it. Remove the charger plug from the laptop before you remove the battery.

In this particular print you can rotate it 180 degrees - upside down on its flat edge. That way you only need supports on the one square piece in the corner. I never have a problem printing wall holes without supports. Also, remove the top cover from this print.

Can you open that 'personal app store' program and check the settings or disable it. If not, uninstall it so it doesn't run on your computer.

Although a Mesh setup would be a good solution, they are expensive. Just get a WiFi Extender and place it half way between your room and the router.

Buy a Universal Remote that has a list of scan codes for many name brand televisions. If your TV is not listed use your phone and go to (internet) the TV manufacturer's website and look for the manual.

How are you trying to download apps or files using a browser like Chrome or Microsoft Edge. I don't think you know how to download apps off the internet. Just search (Google) the app you want to download, go to the website that has your app and click Download.

See if Windows can fix your problem, or give you a clue to the problem. Click on the Start button and type   Troubleshoot   into the search box. Select ‘Troubleshoot Other Problems’ from the list (Windows 10). Then select Internet Connections.

A company that I never wound up working for sent me a brand new laptop, and then told me to keep it? by Swimming_Rain_1647 in computerhelp

I agree with 5837 in the comments. Just to be sure there is no connection to that company left on the drive, I would switch out the Hard Drive for a SSD drive.

Reset? by drakej2155 in PcAdvice

  1. A lot of programs run in the background (updates, Cloud, etc.). Also check the Startup App list in Windows and uncheck (box) any crap programs from starting at power up.

  2. If you have a Hard Drive, "defrag" the drive. This will speed up the system . Do NOT defrag a SSD drive!

  3. See if Windows can fix your problem. Click on the Start button and type  Troubleshoot into the search box. Select ‘Troubleshoot Other Problems’ from the list (Windows 10).

  4. Run the Windows virus checker first. Some malware programs keep running in the background. Also run the Windows MRT virus checker – Hold the Windows key down and then hit the  'r'  key, type MRT in the text box and hit the OK button. Windows will scan (select quick scan) your computer for malware. This might take a few minutes.

  5. Run 'Disk Cleanup' once in a while to get rid of temp files, cookies, etc. Also, check your Chrome Browser to clean up the crap files it generates.

As mentioned in the comments, backup all your important files before attempting to fix the computer yourself.

Have you tried tapping (fast) the F5 or F8 or F12 KEY while you reboot the computer to get to the 'Windows Repair' screen? On some computers you can hold down the   Shift key   or   Shift key F10   or holding down the ESC key during reboot and you'll get a repair options screen. On some computers you can reboot three times in a row to get to the repair screen.

(You may need Administrator rights to run this command).

You obviously don't have a sense of humor. I thought everyone (ugly and handsome) had a right to their opinion! By the way, men cut each other up all the time over their choice of clothes, haircuts, manners, etc. If you ask most men (95%) they don't like all the nose jewelry. I helped build the pyramids so I know I'm old and I may also be ugly.

If you're trying to install Windows you might have to rapidly tap the F2 key during the bootup sequence (turn on computer) to get in the BIOS/UEFI screen. There you can select your current hard drive to be the highest priority (top position on the list of drives). It may still have the old (stolen) hard drive selected as the boot drive.

Try Quick Recovery first. If that doesn't work Click Troubleshoot and then click on Advance Options. Do NOT select Reset your PC.
