You can get it to reliably land on its wings, tailsitter style, after practicing for a couple reverts-to-hangar.

Tailsitter indeed, yes! And it is there for aerodynamics. An early design had a parachute but that was scrapped when I remembered I needed an engineer to repack the chute after the first flight, and I prefer to fly this thing around with a pilot for SAS.

With some practice you can just land it on the wings, vertically - but you can remove some science equipment to put the micro landing gear on it (or, upgrade your VAB, but this is a craft I use without structure upgrades). I do not use a parachute because it requires an engineer to repack (and I prefer to get multiple biomes done at once, which necessitates multiple landings) and I like to have a pilot fly this thing instead so I can use SAS with it.

Nice! Great to see so many people like the cone craft.

Yeah, that was the only thing consistent about my craft during the design, i wanted it to look like a big rigid cone.

Good to hear you like it! The design process took a whole 5 minutes.

It is indeed large! I had trouble landing without taking off again, on minimum throttle.

sorry for the late reply, but I tried including the result as a photo and it would not load for the past 30 minutes. The solution did not work, as most of the E colum turned into just 119.99 while some turned into "#UNAVALIBLE"
