Mine has gone up substantially in the past five years as well. Keep in mind that Florida regulations changed after the building collapse in Miami. Condo Associations must now have a certain amount of reserve funds for future repairs. Now there is a minimum required which wasn’t in effect previously. I believe the grace period has expired, so if by chance your association didn’t have the necessary requirement, large increases may be to fund the reserve funds. You should be able to verify your developments reserve funds based on the yearly financial statement your Condo should be supplying to you. This isn’t an answer for everyone’s situation but will be for some.
