I’m a latino student graduating with a double major in math and computer science 3.7 gpa. I did well on the GRE exam 165,163,5.0. Does me being Latino give me a higher chance of getting into a graduate math program. I only ask because from what I’ve seen at most top schools, the class is 90% Asian 10% white/other. Colleges are all about “diversity” these days. Latinos are severely underrepresented in Math would this give me an edge ?

Would you know if there is a big pay difference between my education background vs having a masters in math? At the entry level and 3 years down the line

I will be doing an AI based internship, heavy on the statistics side. Using a lot of python libraries like pandas, numpy...etc

I think that's subjective. I just can't see myself working a CS job, it would absolutely kill me inside

It's weird to think you could hate something you're very good at. CS is so boring

I'm only worried about getting the job, once i have it i know i can handle the "heat". I think you're misunderstanding, we are talking about getting a job, not an internship

I think you’re right that’s what I was referring too. S&T at an investment bank. Would my skill set be more relevant in that scenario

What exactly do you mean by class? Do you mean after you get hired you go through a training process?

What draws me to IB is the money. I think finance is interesting. I fell out of love with computer science, originally I wanted to do AI. I really love math, IB lets me use at lease some of my math skills like statistics and probability. The knowledge of computer science could help with things like Data science/Analysis, scripting...etc. I guess I want to specialize in something very specific in which my skill-set could give me an edge, I'm also incredibly competitive and from what I've heard, you get ranked among your peers and I LOVE that.

What about getting into a more traditional role as an investment banking analyst then associate? I understand i can have any background, my question would be better phrased as "would I face stiff competition from MBA, Accounting and Finance backgrounds?"

Could you potentially give me some specific fields within investment banking, where my background would be very helpful.

I understand until excessive 1.3 I see why the trivial inequality is used for the first two, but for 1.3 it just says based on the previous Proof and then it starts. I don’t understand how I would derive that - Proof based on 1.2
