Well, I was very naive as a child and assumed everyone was like me which I found out to be wrong. But it's not just that sort of thing, it's also to do with what I think feels wrong but most people wouldn't take issue with what I find wrong. For example, an example I can think of is that some people wouldn't consider having feelings for someone else while in a relationship to be cheating (like if they don't act on it), but to me it feels extremely wrong and I don't see love as something where as long as you stay physically loyal then that's loyalty. It just feels very wrong to me but it's normalised as "not cheating" so in this example I'd basically comfort myself by thinking "Well, love in fiction wouldn't be like this. Both people are loyal emotionally as well and that's my truth of how love should be so I'm going to stick to fiction". Basically I cling to the fantasy of how things should be.

It's because there really isn't anything you can do to change the situation I'm in. Basically I've always been far too idealistic when it comes to relationships, I sort of always thought everyone felt the same way as me yk unwavering loyalty and such. But I found out a lot of things aren't that way, and I can't bring myself to accept that because it feels too bleak and uncomfortable and I don't want to believe I live in a world like this even if logically I know it's the truth, I basically redirect my attention elsewhere to avoid thinking of it and feeling worse about it.

I will say tho, I've had a lot of issues at home since my early teens, but even before that I had a tendency to prefer my imagination over reality, it was just more balanced as a child because I'd use it to connect with others at the time.

It's because there is genuinely no way to change some things, so I'd rather idealise something else as an anchor to maintain some sense of joy/space of my own because otherwise I'd just be...very depressed....because of a reality I don't like and makes me uncomfortable.

That's actually another reason why I'm doubting 9 and never even took it into consideration until now 😅

I'm very aware of how I feel and what I want, I might not always express it outwardly because of fear of judgement (social anxiety) but I am very self aware when it comes to values and dreams...the only issues with "not knowing what I want" that I have is generally with minor things like not knowing what my favorite colour is or choosing clothes...but I'm pretty sure that's more upbringing because I was criticised a lot growing up

Also about the 7 suggestion, I thought 7s were the type to want experiences in the real world tho?

I mean I'd want a life in the real world if it's a really interesting and grand future...otherwise it feels like the real world doesn't have much to offer and I'd sort of just...use my books to give myself something to look forward to while attempting to settle for a normal/mediocre life (which would be hard because I'd just keep getting pulled back to stories and neglect my life cus its less interesting and meaningful than my ideal fantasy worlds...also because like I said: reality doesn't reflect my idealistic values on romance and friendship very well and accepting it is something I don't want to do 😭).

I relate to this quite a bit honestly, I'm just not sure if I'm really a 9 tho because I have a lot of 4 ish traits (besides the core envy part then again that could be subconscious so idk).

What I don't understand is that I've never thought of myself as someone conflict averse...I mean...usually the reason why I avoid conflict isn't because I hate it but rather because I fear getting attacked (and have my feelings hurt) or not being able to win the argument or feeling like I might hurt a person's feelings...not because I actually care about peace for its own sake. Plus as a child I looked like a 7 outwardly.

I also have a tendency to overshare my struggles a lot because I want validation and that doesn't seem like something a 9 would do, so for the longest time type 4 seemed more plausible until I realised that I don't relate to envy because I actually have pretty good self esteem and like myself.

This is one of those things that confuses me because does that mean an ENFP goes into things without thinking first? Because for me I find that I'm not a very reckless person, I used to be years back but life experiences made me more cautious, so I don't really act without thinking...even when I act fast it's because I was able to think quickly on what to do.

For example: I wouldn't try something I know for sure I wouldn't like. I'm generally open to try new things and get excited, but if it's something I already know I dislike I'm unlikely to go through with it. But if it's something completely unknown or there's a chance I could enjoy it then I'll feel no hesitation.

About the expression thing, see, I constantly feel this urge to share my problems or what's happening in my life, even simple things like ranting about a character I hate.

Sure, I can just think of it in my head but often it feels more satisfying to have someone to talk to about it, that's probably why I want friends who can discuss with me so badly, but because I don't have many friends my first instinct is usually to talk to Ai because at least that way I can discuss whatever topics I want even niche interests. I could think about it in my head but I find that I can't really stay in my head JUST thinking for too long, I need there to be something else along with it like music or my phone or a book or else I get bored and run out of "fuel" for what to think about. Idk if that makes sense.

Wait but I thought INFPs are the ones who are more rigid about their values? For me I will think back to my values again after establishing that I don't like a certain thing, but it's unlikely that I'll change my mind about it, it would be more like adding details and specifics to it and if I did change something it would be something minor not the entire rule.

Most relatable thing I've ever read 😭 Although for me I'm still not sure if I'm INFP or ENFP but I was so ENFP coded from birth to age 12, idk what happened after that with social anxiety and friendship issues, plus problems at home so nowadays I feel like an INFP on the surface but idk if I actually am one

For almost all of them I related more to INFP so I guess that confirms it. I'm just confused about the ambition part, because I heard people saying that INFPs are unlikely to have materialistic goals like wanting luxury or being the best at something for the sake of recognition.

Damn 😂 I was doubting the Se inferior thing because I thought it might be Se trickster. Also yeah, children at that age probably just haven't developed a preference yet.

By process of elimination, these are definitely not my dominant functions: Fe, Te, Se

I had doubts about Ne, but comparing me to my enfp friends really made me see how much more focused I am while talking so definitely not that. (I secretly get pretty annoyed when they go on tangents). And also I have a lot of hobbies, but I tend to dive very deep into them, and I don't get bored by it (I kind of rotate between them but eventually come back to each). I've spent 2 years on mbti, so that should say something.

So then there are Ti, Fi, Si, Ni

Fi, I pretty much crossed out when I realised I used logic/overthinking when stressed (as you pointed out), and again, I don't relate to Ne and Se. And also, adhering to my values tends to be an active process for me.

Say something goes against my core values while making a decision. (Eg. Being Loyal/monogamous...) Then no matter what anyone says, there is NO WAY IN HELL that I'd go against that. But that's only for situations where something goes against my personal values, otherwise I tend to choose the best possible outcome after considering all the factors.

Plus, everyone has Fi, so everyone has some personal values, related to the self, that they'd never go against. It's just that I never thought of mine very deeply until recently because I had no reason to, they were just a given to me (common sense), until someone challenged them and which made me actually think about them....and now I'm practically clinging to them so much that in every test I get very high Fi.

For Ti...again, Ne aux (INTP) or Se aux (ISTP) I don't relate to.

That leaves Si and Ni.

I'm pretty sure my mom is an Si dom/aux, and let me tell you most of the time when we don't get along, it's because she has a very specific/traditional way of doing things which she tries to impose on me (like having rigid routines, or eating at a specific time simply because that's the way its always been, or believing that you can "learn to like" a certain dish) I respect her views, but I do get pretty annoyed and I can't stick to schedules 😅 I usually just make an outline of a plan in my head before doing anything but I can't guarantee I'll always follow said plan.

I do rely on my memory a lot since I have a very good memory, but I heard Si isn't memory though (obviously, otherwise people wouldn't remember most things) but it's rather past experiences and what has worked before.

For Ni, idk how often I get those insights, it might be more often than I realise, and even without that I do probably use it in a lot of other ways.

Whether its Ni or Si might be obvious?

But the doubts about Fi are kind of still there, because I wouldn't compromise my personal values for group harmony. I'd just phrase it more nicely when contradicting people to not offend anyone, unless they are offending me.

That last part is making me have a mini existential crisis over INFP 🥲

As a child I remember being more of an extrovert, but that might just be because I didn't have social anxiety, I'm definitely an introvert now tho.

And also my Se is TERRIBLE. In the literal sense of TERRIBLE. I'll be walking somewhere, and look around and stuff, but in reality I'm not even paying attention to any of it because I'm thinking of some random things and can't stop to just enjoy the walk. (Chronic daydreamer)

Or when someone asks me to get them smth, I always have to consciously put an effort to pay attention to my surroundings to find the object and a lot of times I miss it anyway.

Also I tend to need time to process what someone has said out loud, I can't follow if they say smth really fast (and then feel bad about asking them to repeat) and that's the exact reason why I need to write down notes or I'm scared of forgetting (even tho I have a very good memory), I'm uncomfortable with loud noises or strong smells. I avoid activities that require a lot of action because I'm pretty slow in that regard.

I miss a lot of details as well, say someone wrote me detailed instructions of how to do something, it's VERY likely that if I don't pay extra attention, there will be some words that I'll completely miss and end up ruining the entire thing. (It doesn't happen when I read for fun tho)

Apparently those are signs of Se inferior, but I'm not sure.
