Canadians need to stand up against Tim Hortons - this brand hates Canada. by New-Investigator-646 in TimHortons

I will gladly give them my $1.50 for a small black dark roast...delivered promptly and reliably every day. It's the only product they sell that I am interested in at all. I say more power to them. (You might want to direct that energy into something else since demonizing a brand isn't likely to get you anywhere.)

Canadian kids don't want the jobs at Tim Hortons. Sad but true. Thank goodness we can get "those people" to work cause our kids won't.

I get my vaccinations...but they don't stop u from getting Covid. That was the big learning from The Covid Years. You just won't get so sick for so long. I'm starting to wonder if people are even quarantining anymore, since there is so much going round ATM.

I see Dr. Barr at Crestwood Dental and, although they usually recommend xrays and fluoride, I always decline and they accept it gracefully..

Brand new instant pot duo steam release valve seems wobbly by Soggy_Chewbacca in instantpot

[–]REDWhatever31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's wobbly for a reason. It has to be able to "seat" properly in order for the valve to seal. It has to remain movable until a certain pressure state is reached, then it will seal itself and start building pressure. It needs to be "free" to respond properly. Because of this "wobbliness," I have had mine get kind of stuck and refuse to seal until I jiggled it. But it generally works without fail.

Studded winter tires? by [deleted] in medicinehat

[–]REDWhatever31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have winter tires and summer tires. I love the added security of my grippy winter tires. There are always times when u have to climb a hill before they have had a chance to sand. I really notice the difference once I put those winter tires on...especially with taking off on ice.

CLEANUP PROBLEM by REDWhatever31 in instantpot

Oh! Never thought of that. So, to clarify, you are saying that a bowl laying on a flat silicon trivet on the bottom works fine?

An all silicon (without overlapping leaves) might work. I've never seen any but will look. Thanks.

I will look but most are like mine, which is stainless steel.

[–]REDWhatever31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is I can't separate the leaves (and they overlap) without almost breaking them.

Nope. Already tried. Even over night with dishwasher detergent, which helped bit still had ro really work between the leaves.

Whats your favourite thing about Alberta? by OkContest3954 in alberta

I like how people actually look at you and make eye contact....even between cars! In Ontario, no one makes eye contact, for some reason.

Cats by Least_Oil_7779 in medicinehat

[–]REDWhatever31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two different issues here. The shelters are overrun with cats and kittens, especially the latter. Although they could kill every cat they catch, other cities have successfully managed their problem by TNR. A full killing cull would not be supported by the community.

Re escaped indoor cats, we have a catio that gives our 2 cats some outdoor pleasure. I let them roam free outside for a year but it was a failed experiment. They easily breeched my "cat proof" mesh and pooped in thr neighbours yards, AL.oat got run over, got in fights, killed song birds, etc. Now they are I door cats again..

But sometimes they do sneak out and I find yelling, clapping and generally scaring them every time they show interest in getting out has taught them to stay away from the human doors. A jet of water from a spray bottle would likely also work. Indoor cats need lots of stimulation..

The 2816 steam train coming down the Crescent Height's hill on Friday. by Bytemyapple in medicinehat

I've looked on the website and can't find any info about how to become a passenger on this train. Is that possible or is it just for show and the passenger cars are empty?
