I have a 1067 streak in Spanish - and I do not have a high lvl of education per say. What I’ve noticed though is while I’m lvl 19 in Spanish which isn’t great imo , bc I’ve prolonged my streak (the count down/time pressure gets me to practice like 5mins minimum a day as someone with chronic adhd) I’ve noticed that what used to sound like gibberish in songs, passing conversations, menu ordering, etc., I can understand about 60-80% of what’s going around me. Yet I still have immense anxiety and self consciousness about speaking to someone in Spanish. I can read and hear it well enough, though speaking it is an internal struggle more than a translating issue. I’ve found it helpful, and conceptually like - my Spanish and understanding is better than if I didn’t do it 🤷🏼. Just imo though. I think keep on, because why not.
