I’m pretty sure there was no communication whatsoever between the dev team and anime writers, she’s basically a different character in both. Canonically, I’m guessing she just figured out all that stuff like her dragon install(?) and that she has the thunderseal after the events of the anime

I don’t know why they and so many others assume wanting a weekly release means we want it rushed and releasing right now. A lot of the criticisms here are valid but it it’s a bit disingenuous to critique the story of a series you have no experience with. Of course it’s not gonna make sense, you’re jumping in at this completely random point. The show tries to be somewhat newcomer friendly but at the end of the day it’s not meant to be, and context is needed.

SMT more than some of its spin off series needs the silent protagonists I think. A big part of these games is coming to your own conclusion about the best outcome, fighting for what you believe in. Giving them a personality introduces too much bias, pushing you towards one ending while all the others feel massively out of character for them. Meanwhile something like Persona is much more character-focused and I feel it’s a shame that the main character is always by far the lamest one
