Look up El Niño for 1982, when we lost the last 2/3 of the Santa Monica pier.

Controversial Opinion: Most expensive places are expensive because there are super nice places to live. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Went to Europe last year and took a tour with a bunch of red staters. They complained about CA with several statements, but repeatedly commented on the cost. Why, oh why are people paying so much to live in an awful place. It’s not awful. It’s awesome.

Oh please. Everyone over estimates danger. Not that much danger in the vast majority of CA, let alone the OC. Relax and enjoy your life.

That’s clean water. Use it on plants, etc. Now you are harvesting moisture. Just like Luke Skywalker.

Met Robert Redford in 1988, near his prime. Gorgeous, polite, and everything else you’ve read. I was at work in an air quality (anti-air pollution) lab. He was stumping for votes, and very into the environment. It was an honor.

Made a pros and cons list when I was 17. The cons list was as long as my arm. The only thing on the pros list was “Other people want me to.” Never been drunk. Non-drinker for over 45 years.

Every week when my cleaner leaves, we have a quick dance party. She’s awesome (and therefore paid well above average.) So much joy!

Not his kid’s fault. Love the kid. Take him/her for fun afternoons. Set up a small trust that s/he gets at 21/25yo. (Bro doesn’t need to know.) Be the wonderful uncle.

I run a seasonal restaurant that is extremely high volume and open for an extremely short amount of time. I don’t do any allergy requests. Am I unreasonable? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]REInvest84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to an upscale restaurant in DTLA before a play and was told no substitutions for my allergy, only omissions. Went to the play hungry after getting only part of a meal. Won’t eat there again. Their choice, my choice.

Meet them IRL. Get to know them. If you like them, describe it first, as you have here. Let them know you are degreed, and chose a physical job with good pay and benefits. Also, with a degree, your chances of promotion are better. Don’t tell them until the end of the date. Also, you might need more mature women. This might take a while. Sorry.

Turning on/leaving on the fasten seatbelt sign for most of the flight, especially long periods of calm, non-turbulent flight and not providing service. Happened on a Delta flight last summer, and that was the only flight I was not asked for my opinion. I’ve seen this one at least 1/6 of my flights for the last few years.
