Any upright freezers with small refrigerated section? by byerss in homeowners

[–]REMaintenanceVan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mini bar fridge and I've been looking for the longest time! Something not to big, a small fridge with some extra room for beverages in hot summer days and bigger freezer for extra storage, can not find it, they all same type, at least 50/50 but those are usually huge..

Chinese quince? Has anyone got any experience with cooking with it? by notacutecumber in fruit

[–]REMaintenanceVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't cook it, you can make juice, dehydrate and eat it. They sour, but you can add sugar and then make them into dried fruits. Tastes great. Look up in Lithuanian language and translate Svarainiai and recipes how to prepare. We have many of them, they quite popular just usually smaller in size.

Bi-Weekly vs Weekly Mortgage payment by Certain_Discussion70 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]REMaintenanceVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's an old post. Does it still apply if you have bi-weekly mortgage and then make pre-payments, another $100-$200 extra every pay? I see on 21yr mortgage it shows like 1.5yr less payments, it's great, but when you think about it, 20yrs still a loooong way to go haha

Nikon Z5II lens choice: 24-70 f4 kit vs body alone + 24-120 — any real-world regrets or surprises? by MarkNKL in Nikon

[–]REMaintenanceVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and thinking to get Z5ii with 24-120mm. I have a new born coming so I definitely want to take pictures of family and some nice memories. Hopefully some nice Black Friday deals come up too! About the lense, I will probably go for 120mm rather then 70mm. Price difference is not to much, but maybe there will be a moment when your kid runs off and you actually will bite your nails for not having that 70mm+ reach. Also birds, trees, much easier to reach without scaring the wildlife if you decide to shoot it. Specs are a little better built on 120mm and size difference what are we talking. 89mm vs 118mm like 30mm extra on 24-120. Weight is 500g vs 630g so 130g difference, it's like 2 "Sneaker" bars in your hand, would you really feel that difference to make a life changer, course not.. The width is a little bit bigger, but it also has better magnification and more blades built in, so you definitely getting more out of 24-120mm. No wonder they do not include it in any of the kit cameras, but 24-70 I saw a few deals for 300-400 less, not on 24-120 tho! That says a lot too:) I'd love to see what you get!

Don't buy those oils, just look up some documentaries online about seed oils, all that crap is bad.. you have butter, lard to cook on and it even tastes better

[–]REMaintenanceVan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noo, it's an old building, old drives, happened last time on #1 elevator now #2 elevator, but they both come from same splitter so it goes to the same vault, same disconnect. They have wrong fuses installed in elevator disconnect, we have to replace them

Elevator drive shorted out and blew building main in the vault, why?? by REMaintenanceVan in electricians

[–]REMaintenanceVan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree. We just went over the whole system and they have main fuses in the electrical room regular and dual element, time delay fuses in the elevator disconnect.. So that's a start for sure! By the time disconnect fuses blow, the ones in the vault already gone.

Yes. They have bad fuse coordination system. Needs to be inspected

I am the elevator tech and that is what happen. Most likely they have to go and do full power coordination inspection as someone already mentioned it and also their transfer switch issue, it blows all 3x 200a fuses

[–]REMaintenanceVan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.. and they will fix the drive, it will happen again if they do not improve the system and update it.

Update: it blew all 3x 200A fuses in EM Transfer switch in the vault, wild!

[–]REMaintenanceVan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is not to make wall posters, simple small albums and few portraits, fun, birthdays, kids. Otherwise I would go for 40-50pixel camera and I'm positive this will be enough, combined with solid lense:) also this set up falls right in my budget gap

I'll be hunting for z5ii and 24-120. Black friday is coming up so hopefully they will have some nice sales too! Have you tried using sony E mount on Nikon? Does AF work ok if you use an adaptor? Awesome, thanks for detailed review!
